It was still dark outside only the moon to shine down upon the earth that night. The creature looked around, its feet feeling the tall grass between his toes a small smile spread on its face as it began to roll in the grass.
A small sound came out of the creature as it kept rolling about the grass. The creature smiled from ear to ear as he stood up and saw the flowers. The creature bent down and picked one and smelled it with glee.
The wind blew and the flower flew away, the creature ran after it crying and then stumbled on a pebble. The creature cried out which made the night animals run and scurry away to their homes.
The creature sat there holding its foot in pain, whimpering wishing for the pain to go away. The creature sat there for some time as the night turned into the morning sunrise. In fear that someone might see the creature found an old tree to hide in for the day till night would once more come again....
Timmy woke the next morning and dragged himself out of bed and grabbed one of his clothes from the pile on the floor sniffed it and shrugged as he put it on. He ran out the door of his room and went down stairs for breakfast.
"Oh my! What is that smell?!"
Timmy's mother exclaimed
"Is that a dirty shirt your wearing Timmy?! I done told you several times not to wear old clothes and to put them in the wash! Go back up stairs and change into clean clothes for school!"
"But mother it's my favorite shirt! It's my lucky green shirt with brown stripes! I have to wear it today for my math test!" Timmy told his mother
"There is no time for that mess Timmy, go up stairs and change and I will wash your shirt"
But mother my shirt won't be washed in time for school!"
Timmy wined at his mother
"Do not make me say it again son, you will just have to have a different shirt today. I'm sure you will do just as good in a different shirt now get!"
Timmy stormed up the stairs in a huff as he threw off his shirt and slammed his door shut. The rattling of the door slamming shook the pictures on the mantle and his mother sighed and shook her head.
It's been only 2 years that his father went missing. It was a very strange night April 12th the night that Timmy turned 4 that he went missing. Nobody knows where he went only that he was searching for a big bright light that lit up the night sky.
They sent out searchers, dogs, bounty hunters, horses and all of the likes to find Timmy's lost father only to turn up empty. Timmy's mother put a hand to her chest remembering that frightening night that her love went missing and most importantly her son's father.
She has tried all she might to train up Timmy to be a young gentleman but as much as she tried she couldn't do it. He needed a father in his life to show him the ways. She started to cry and wonder if she was doing things right or if she should change when Timmy came down the stairs in a brand new shirt and she began to cry all over again.
For he was wearing his father's old shirt he used to wear as a child.
"How's this mother? It's fathers. It might give me good luck today as I do my math test!"
"Oh hunny! You look amazing! And so handsome like your father! He would be so proud of you. Now get to finishing your breakfast and I'll drive you to school."
When they got to school Savanna Summers Timmy's best friend was waiting for him to go inside.
Hey Timmy! I waited for you, let's race inside the last one to class gets a toad in their lunch!" Savanna said with a grin on her face as she ran full speed down the hall laughing.
"Hey that's not fair! You got a head start!"
Timmy's mother smiled as she drove off with a giggle.
The math class was last period, and Timmy was nervous as can be, he looked over at Savanna and gave a small smile mixed with fear. She looked at him and gave him two thumps up and a small smile before the teacher came by with the papers.
He sat there writing all the answers down as good as he could, biting his lower lip a trait he got from his father when he was nervous. The clock struck and the teacher spoke so loudly Timmy dropped his pencil on the floor in fear.
"Papers! Times up! Papers! Send the papers to my desk!"
Snapped Mr. Applebumm
All the children obeyed and sent their papers up to the front desk and went back to their seats.
"I will grade these tonight children and you will get them back tomorrow! Have a wonderful rest your day!"
Timmy rolled his eyes as Mr. Applebumm said "wonderful" he doesn't mean that he's mean. He said under his breath.
When Timmy got home that afternoon he dropped off all his things and ran out the door before his mother could stop him. He got on his bike and raced to the field to meet up with Savanna.
When he got there she was already there waiting an when she saw him she had a big smile on her face.
"How do you think you did on your test Timmy?" She asked
"Oh I don't know, but I hope I did good. I was so nervous I thought I was gonna get sick! I hate doin those tests!" Timmy replied.
"Well that's all over now let's relax."
Savanna grabbed his hand and pulled him down into the tall grass as she put her head on his shoulder looking up at the musky clouds.
They laid their for quite some time just breathing and relaxing taking in the crisp air closing their eyes enjoying each other's company. Little did they know that just behind them was an old tree. The same tree in fact that the creature was hiding in...
The creature was watching them through the tree with curiosity....
