Skai's fingers twitched as her brows
furrowed, the monotonous beeping disturbed her from her coma.
Memories of her being tied and beaten to satisfaction flashed in her mind.
After Ramoni went to the airport and found out they couldn't leave, she took all her anger out on Skai.
She didn't hold back. Skai couldn't do anything to defend herself, she was tied and drugged, her body could only handle so much.
She only tuned out when all the beating came to an halt, gunshots and shooting was all over, people running and screaming for their lives.
Skai tried to open her eyes, but it took so much to do such a simple thing, no matter how hard she tried she couldn't, she gave up not knowing what to do.
It's like she's there mentally, but physically she couldn't move a muscle. Her body hurt so much.
What sounded like a door opened and closed, steady footsteps following. "How's she??" A rather familiar voice asked.
"She is doing a lot better than last week, I checked her vitals and there are signs of brain signals." Another voice answered, much more subtle and soft than the first.
"Okay you can leave." The voice ordered.
Distressed was an understatement to describe what Manii was feeling for the past month.
She thought having Skai by her side at all times would've been beneficial, but the one time she wasn't, her power thirst sibling made a move.
Killing Ramoni was not going to satisfy her for the pain she put Skai in. Manii wanted to make sure Ramoni felt Skai's pain tenfold... She tortured her, made sure she healed, just to torture her again, and so the cycle continues.
Until Skai is up and well, saying she forgives Ramoni, Manii would never stop.
Manii walked up for what seemed like the 1000th time, to the bed of which Skai's limp body laid unconscious.
Bomani's jaw clenched, no matter how many times she saw Skai in this condition, her heart, that was stone cold at the youngest of age, of all the killing spree, dismembering, and all the gruesome things she does, for the first time in forever her heart churned in pain.
She finally got Skai in her arms, only for this to happen? She won't let her out of her sight now, she can't, after two years, of finally getting a hold of the one that captured her heart at first glance, she just couldn't let her go now.
Manii reached for Skai's cold lifeless hand, gently placing her lips on her dewy, silky skin, giving her a soft kiss. She always did this, to greet her in a warm welcoming way, it just felt right.
She then placed her hand down taking off her blazer, before going into the bathroom, getting a basin halved with warm water and a wash cloth adding vanilla and lavender bath extract.
She noticed that was Skai's day to day scent and she loved it.
She then rested the basin on the small table beside the bed, returning in bathroom, pulling up her sleeves before washing her hands to get rid of any unwanted bacteria.
She went back into the room, gently removing the very light piece of clothing off Skai. Manii was never the one to be gently with others, but there was an exception for her.
Her eyes scanned her body... her blood boiled, bruises upon bruises. Her perfect Carmel skin was decorated with purple and brown marks, a long with some covered wounds.
"If only I was there..." Manii never once stopped blaming herself, she felt the weight of guilt heavy on her shoulder. All this trauma, she never wanted Skai of all persons to go through it.
She took her time to admire her features once again before wringing the warm liquid from the wash cloth, gently wiping Skai's body.
After a while of trying her best not to hurt Skai too much, she had cleaned her body fully, adding her ointments and dressing her once again.
All this while, Skai was fighting a mental battle to speak, open her eyes, if it's even move just an inch.. she felt paralyzed.
She then felt her hand being held again, and for some reason, the aura of this person gave her, comfort...it gave her warmth. She felt protected?
Skai relaxed, channeling all her energy into lifting a finger, specifically the hand that was being held by Bomani.
When Bomani felt the shift...her heart started beating faster ..she was feeling everything all at once.
"Skai...Skai can you hear me?" Manii squeezed her hand in returned, not hard tho.
Manii felt it once again. A smile creeped on her face.
"You was really startin to scare me..." Manii truthfully let out....
Skai's lips then twitched into a small smile almost going unnoticed but Manii caught it in seconds.
Skai's eyes slowly opened, her vision blurry, with face screwed getting used to the bright light which she hasn't seen in what seemed like forever.
Manii was looking at her in awe, she just couldn't take her eyes off her, she felt so relieved...she was beyond elated, but ofcourse not much emotions could be displayed on such stone built face.
Skai mustered a bit more energy trying to sit up. She felt something....her heart was palpating out her chest ...was it because she just woke from a coma or was it because....her boss was so near her ....looking so entranced.
The beeping of the machine became faster, making her aware and look away in embarrassment.
Skai was lost in her boss's eyes, they were as void and deep as the ocean, you could only explore so much.
Manii saw this and fluffed her pillows helping her to sit up also getting her some water.
Skai tried to take the water herself, "relax yo self, I got you ma." If Skai wasn't already weak...she was sure as hell weak now.
