Jessica sat on an upturned tree deep in the woods and wondered to herself just how she was going to explain this one away "So, yes, darling, I can turn into a wolf whenever I choose to do so", just didn't seem to cut the mustard somehow. The more she sat thinking, the angrier she got because the answer didn't seem to be forthcoming and the angrier she got, the more she felt her wolf coming out.

She knew there was no danger of being seen out here, so she just let the happen.

Just then, she heard a rustle of leaves just a short distance away and a squirrel appeared a short distance away, unable to keep her desires as a wolf in check any longer, she took off after the squirrel which was thankfully able to get back up a tree before she did any damage to it. Walking on towards the tree, she allowed herself to return back to human and was now walking naked towards the tree wondering why she had taken chase at the squirrel, after all, it clearly wouldn't have been much more than a snack to the wolf.

After dressing, she decided to make her way home and get some food before she went out with John that night. Just thinking of him made her stomach churn with nerves all over again. Why did she decide to walk to school this morning was a question she asked herself for the umpteenth time since she left school an hour ago. After walking for what seemed like forever, she reached the large double doors of her home and effortlessly pushed one open striding inside.

Just behind the door, a large black wolf was happily chewing on the remains of a sheep. Jessica said to it "I hope you are going to clean that up, Dad". The wolf lifted his head and sniffed at her, once he realised that it was his daughter and not a threat, he retuned quite contentedly to the young sheep he was enjoying.

Jessica took the stairs to her room 2 at a time and dumped her bag onto the black satin sheets of her 4 poster and groaned to her mother "Mum, dad's bought a kill home again".

Joanne jumped out of her trance that she had let her mind slip into as she put away Jessica's laundry and replied "I don't know where he has gotten that habit from - perhaps it is time to remove the dog door since it's been so long since Sassy died and we never replaced her?".

Finishing the chore, Joanne made her way back down to the kitchen to cooking the Bangers and Mash for tea. As she reached the kitchen, she realized that Jason was due for a feed and shouted upstairs to Jessica "Please be a sweet and fetch Jason down here".

Jessica replied "Will do, mum" and appeared a few seconds later with a pup in her hands. The young pup had taken a dislike to being held by a human and showed his displeasure by chewing his sister's thumb.

Joanne glanced over and said "It looks like this little one prefers being in wolf form much more than he does being human, this is the fourth time he's been this way at feeding time this week".

After turning the heat under the potatoes down low, Joanne removed her clothes and switched into wolf form so that she could feed her son. Jessica looked around her and saw a big black wolf that was Josh, Joanne who was a slightly smaller caramel color and the pup and felt oddly left out again. She refused to switch again because she knew that it meant having to undress to dress again, which was frankly something she couldn't be bothered to do again today.

"Hi hun, how was your day?" Josh asked

"Weeell, since I didn't bring a kill home with me, Dad, I'd say that it went far better than yours" Jessica smiled.

Josh looked sheepish at his daughter's rebuke and replied "I think it's those deadlines down at the factory that are stressing me out".

Jessica mulled over his point and she thought that he could be on to something there, the problem had intensified since he'd left the security of The Howl, the pack newspaper where he'd been Chief editor. Of course, there's always a reason why Pack wolves seldom outside of the security of the pack and it had little to do with safety being in numbers - the unpredictability of the wolf nature means that change can happen to anyone at anytime and the human doesn't like it when they are suddenly confronted by a wolf.
