Few outside of the fairy world know that Faevil exists... and that's just the way that the fairies who live there like it. Just because no one knows that Faevil exists, doesn't mean that it's a quiet, peaceful place, full of fairies whiling away centuries and even millenia of life until their lives are over. Faevil is actually a very active place where the fae are commonly seen dashing to and fro as they on assisting us with more or less every aspect of our lives.
Marti is a inventor fairy and you never know just what she'll be working on next and it's for that reason that her eyes, wings and hair are rainbow colored. She already has a number of inventions that are commonly used in the human world. One of these is the Comgem a hand sized stone - it has many uses in much the same way as a tablet does in the human world, it can record real-life experiences and play them back so that it's is able to use any experience as a training exercise - sadly, the Comgem doesn't change the outcome of the event that happened. Marti felt that it was unfair to allow just anyone to play with fate. Thankfully, it doesn't work should anyone else (except an Enforcer - who code their own magic into each Comgem so they are able to access it should it be found or they need to see something for the safety of Faevil) be in possession of the Comgem, which was a fact that came to light early on in the testing process because Marti has a terrible memory and often forgets where she has put her things. As far as inventions go, the Comgem has always had it's share of friends and foes though and that's for no other reason than it never changes the result that the owner got when the experience initially happened.
So although it's great for sharing and recreating past battles (you can choose to share your experiences with others if you want to as long as you are touching them until the recreation is complete), you can never get your ex back by recreating the moment and doing things differently.
It's not uncommon for Marti to be summoned to the Fae palace, but it doesn't mean that she feels any less uncomfortable away from her workshop where her magic and tools don't much care how she or even if she dresses at all - even when she cunjores the best dresses that money can buy - she swears that she's just as out of place as she would be had she turned up wearing rags... and today is another example of one of those days. Of course, she's lost her original invitation which serves as a security pass, so she fishes out her Comgem and shows the guard the image of the saved invitation - luckily, they are sent date and time stamped otherwise she'd have had a right trying to explain why she was trying to get into the palace with no invitation.
The guard waved her into the huge hall. The main focal point of the hall is a huge fountain. The fountain in itself was a gift that Marti made for Queen Fauna when she was just a babe in arms. The beauty of it is that it never goes out of fashion because the queen is able to it's design and color simply by imagining that it is as she desires. Today, the fountain is a family of 3 mermaids who are shooting the water high into the air - the father seems to be King Triton and his jet of water stops just short of the ceiling. The water in itself is green in color. A plaque just before the fountain announces that today is Princess Azure's Finday - which is why the fountain was dressed as it was.
Arriving at the queen's private chambers, Marti knocked on the door and waited before walking in. Queen Fauna glanced up from her dresser and flew over to her, beating her wings softly. Marti curtsied and said "You have something to talk about, Your Majesty".
Fauna rested her pink eyes upon her sister and said "You need a vacation - and let's drop the formalities, dear sister".
Marti retorted "Well, I couldn't walk in and say 'Now what do you want' could I now".
Marti took in the sight of her sister, feeling thankful that she had refused to be Queen herself because the whole lifestyle was totally the opposite to what she wanted to achieve in life. Today, everything about Fauna was pink... her hair, wings and clothes - and it inspired Marti to think of a huge cupcake. This very image was one that she couldn't help but project into the huge mirror that took up half the room... that was what happened when her emotions ran high like they were right now.
Fauna gave a short giggle and said "Much as I hate to do this, can we please get down to business? We are rather short on time today and I need to cram much into our meeting time".
Marti reached for her Comgem and the phoenix feather that she used as a pen to make notes on it's surface. The feather in itself isn't really necessary in most cases since the Comgem is capable of the conversation, but Marti found that it didn't always get the instructions if she wanted to record specifics of design ideas like shapes so she used the feather to literally draw them into it.
Marti replied "I'm all ears".
Fauna continued "The first thing I wondered if you could create is an update to a small number of Comgems. Fae Squad aren't happy because they can't send specific files between themselves and it's slowing their cases down".
Marti glanced up and said "I've been working on that one for general release anyway - I hope to have the last few bits finished on it soon".
Fauna continued as if her sister hadn't said a word "There also seems to be a few issues with those swords you made for Fae squad - they've reported some instabilities with the length of the sword blade".
Marti stood and said "That is more of a user error rather than a glitch with the swords themselves. The swords are set to alternate their blade size and if the fae doesn't think of the blade at the size they need, they will get a short bladed dagger one minute and a Long Sword the next. The same holds true for the weight of the sword. Simply think of it as you require it and it shall be".
