Beaten Down

Anti woke up in a hospital bed.

The first thing he noticed was being handcuffed to the bed.

He knew why.

The memories of what Dark made him do were still sickeningly fresh in his head.

The screams.

The blood.

He lightly tugged on the cuffs.

"Oh, you're awake." a bored and tired voice mumbled.

Anti looked to the other side of him to see Henrik standing over him.

"I . . .. H-Hen . . wh . .what happened?"

Henrik narrowed his eyes on him, "Vhat happened? You fucking vent berserk is what happened. You stabbed Sean and Chase, possessed Jameson and seriously injured Jackie and Marvin. You tried to strangle me until Jackie fought you off and knocked you out"

Anti started to cry, "I . . . I didn't mean to . .Hen . . . Please believe me"

"Vhat do you mean, you didn't mean to? Explain yourself"

Anti tried to say something. Anything.

But it appeared that Dark still had a hold on him.

As if taunting him.

Anti tried to stop himself from sobbing, "I . . I can't say . . ."

Suddenly, Jackie came around the corner of the room. He looked pissed and ready to fight again, "You can't say because you DID mean it, you fucking monster! I fucking knew you were trouble!"

The hero tried to rush towards him but Henrik stood in his way, "Easy zhere, Jackie. He's handcuffed. He can't go anywhere."

"Yeah, I know" Jackie sneered, "Which means he can't get away when I beat the shit out of him"

Anti whimpered, "I. . . I'm sorry. . . .  I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. . . I didn't-"

"STOP FUCKING LYING! I SAW THE LOOK IN YOUR EYES! WE ALL FUCKING DID! WE HEARD YOUR LAUGHING! WE SAW YOUR SICK SMILE! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A LYING, SICK, MONSTER! YOU FREAK!"

It took some doing, but Henrik finally got Jackie out of the room.

Coming back to Anti, Henrik noticed his crying but didn't offer any support.

Anti started to hiccup, "Wh. . what ha-happened to Sean? Is. . .Is he okay?"

Henrik snorted, "As if you really care. . . .  he's in coma, currently. It's been a few days since your attack on us. Jameson is in a coma, too, from vhat you did to him . . . . but they'll be okay. . . eventually"

It didn't make Anti feel any better.

If anything, it made him feel worse.

Dark did this.

He wanted Anti to feel this pain.

Why?

Why did he make him nearly kill them all? What did he get out of it?

Something suddenly clicked in Anti.

Anger welled up inside of him.

Just imagining Dark's sneering face and hearing his condescending voice. . . . 

He made Anti hurt them.

Henrik noticed Anti stopped crying but now looked more mad than anything.

The doctor wasn't sure of what to do or say but he was uncomfortable. Maybe he shouldn't have made Jackie leave, after all?
