After having his Nobel Prize revoked for fraud, Eli Michaelson saw his world collapse before his eyes. He had always thought of himself as a genius in the sciences and never imagined that anyone would discover he had stolen the work of another, his late best friend, no less. That wasn't the only thing he was blamed for. Indeed, Eli had cheated on his ex-wife countless times with countless women, sometimes even several at once : students, professors, or even women he met in various places. But despite these incessant infidelities, Eli loved Sarah, his ex-wife. To him, she was the first woman who made him dream. That's why he proposed to her and had a son with her, Barkley. Sarah was also the only woman who had managed to endure Eli and his oversized ego for so long without stopping loving him. But after learning who he truly was, she filed for divorce and moved far away with their twenty-one-year-old son. Deep down, Eli knew he had gotten what he deserved. He hadn't only cheated on Sarah, but before that, he had driven his best friend to suicide by having a child with his friend's wife, and then stealing his work, as mentioned earlier. All Eli had left was his job. He still gave lectures at the university, though he no longer enjoyed them as he once did. The public had been made aware of Eli's theft, so he lost all his admirers at once, which further damaged his self-confidence. In fact, Eli hadn't lost all his admirers. He still had two left.
