Chapter 2: Xirhelm City

Mr. Sunowk watched as the last two left his class, but noticed a boy asleep in the back near the door.

He walked over to him and nudged him awake.

Mr. Sunowk: Hey, schools over. It's summer for you now.

The boy sleepily looked up with his dark-gray hoodie, messy black hair, blue eyes, and red slash marks logo on his hoodie.

The boy: Already?

Mr. Sunowk: Yes. Also... you're Brendon, aren't you? The boy I would always see sleeping in class... But I never got on to you since I had others to deal with... Ahem, Jax. But you always turned in the work and got 100s, which surprised me.

Brendon: Yeah...

Mr. Sunowk: Yet you're so tired now. Well, you should get outta here.

Brendon: Alright...

He sleepily got up from the chair and slouched down some as he walked out the door.

Mr. Sunowk (in head): On the day they revealed their powers, he was shown to be merely an Amplifier, but he was too tired to show his ability...

Meanwhile, Zyton was walking home when he spotted three gang guys causing ruckus in the city...

Zyton: This is not how I wanted the summer to start...

He watched as the three guys walked close to him, each with their smug expressions.

Guy 1 wielded a crowbar with his dark-blue beanie over his white mullet, brown eyes, and dark-blue hoodie with a red T with spiky ends on it...

Guy 2 and Guy 3 being clad in the same hoodie, but accompanied with a gray beanie, brown hair reaching his shoulders, pink eyes, and a screwdriver... then accompanied with a dark-gray  beanie, black hair covering his eyes almost, gray eyes, and a wrench...

Guy 1: You just get off of school, punk?!

Guy 2: Pfft! Imagine still being in school!

Zyton: What do you want?

Guy 1: Oh, wow, so serious you are.

He suddenly very quickly whacked the air with his crowbar, causing a small shockwave that moved Zyton's hair before he threatened him with it close to his neck.

Guy 1: Give us your stuff, man.

Zyton sighed as a white aura formed around the guy's hair...

Zyton (in head): What he's thinking is I'm gonna be so scared of a Luminizer... How pitiful of a gang they are...

Guy 1: Huh?! You that scared of me?!

Guy 1 and 2 started laughing loudly, while Guy 3 remained quiet and timid...

Until Guy 1 looked over his shoulder at him...

Guy 1: Hey, new guy! Jamino! How about we let you take him?!

Jamino: I...

Zyton (in head): Clearly, he's reluctant. Perhaps he isn't wanting to be a part of such an embarrassing gang.

Guy 1: Huh?! Whack his brains out with that thing!

Jamino clenched his wrench and pulled his hood over his eyes in fear.

Zyton: Hey, dimwit!

Guy 1 looked back at Zyton and scowled at him.

Guy 1: HUUUUH?! YOU CALLING ME A DIMWIT?!

He attempted to cut Zyton's neck with the crowbar, but he quickly grabbed it and pushed it away.

Guy 2: WHAT?!

Zyton (in head): Actually using my power? I haven't in so long...

Guy 1's scowl turned to shock and fear as he watched as a purple aura formed around Zyton's hair...

Guy 1: No... way...

Guy 2: YOU'RE...

Jamino (in head): Woah... He's an Ascender... THE 2ND STRONGEST AURA TYPE!

Zyton: That's right. I'm many times stronger than you three combined!

Guy 1: Tch... We aren't scared! What do you take us for?!

Zyton: Heh, what do I take you for? Just a bunch of wusses.

Guy 2: Erik, man, we can't fight him!

Erik: You think we have a choice, Tyken?!

Zyton almost punched Erik, but stopped just before he hit his face, causing lots of wind to hit his face instead...

He could only stand in shock as his arms fell to his sides, and his white aura faded away, leaving his messy-turned hair from the wind beneath his now crooked beanie...

Zyton: You still wanna challenge me? Huh, punks?!

Tyken: Crap...

Erik: The boss ain't gonna like this...

Jamino (in head): Dang... This is the power of an Ascender...

Zyton stared fiercely at them, until Erik shouted for them to retreat with Tyken quickly following, but Jamino being still focused on Zyton for a few seconds, before realizing and running away with them...

Zyton sighed once again as the purple faded away and his hair fell back down to cover his eyes some.

Zyton fixed his gray backpack as he continued walking.

Zyton (in head): Heh. See, Miraculer boy? I'm not so far from your strength, am I?

He looked down with a smug small chuckle to himself, before he jolted his head back up after seeing a blur swoop by him.

Zyton: The hell?

He was barely able to make it out, until the guy jumped up right behind the three guys and while falling to the ground upside-down, pointed his hand like a gun at Erik...

Zyton: No way... DARION?!

He was now the one with shock on his face, as from all the way over there, he saw the purple surround Darion's hair...

Darion: You think Imma let you fools steal my stuff and get away with it? Think again...
