The next few weeks were a blur. Everything was moving along and changing so fast. We indeed did move out of that neighborhood and into what I suppose was a better one. I was only in the 3rd grade and this is my third elementary school. My dad has took Me to get more clothes and buys me almost anything I want. I'm growing to love this man so much for me to have just met him three weeks ago. Him and my mom seem to be really getting along as well. Being that we moved to a new area my mom got a new job and is now working new hours. We haven't had much girl time together but I understood why.

Its amazing how time flies and to think that I was going to be nine soon was blowing me away. It was literally one week away and I was so excited. I couldn't even focus in school because my mom told me the night before that she was off the next day and we were going to plan what I was going to do.

I was so unfocused I walked right pass my Dad waiting to take me home from school. When I got home I started straight on my homework knowing that my mom was going to tell me to do that first anyways. By the end of the night we agreed that I was going to get a big pretty pink birthday cake and I got to invite a few friends over from school to have a little get together. Sadly my mom was scheduled to work and couldn't take off.

The day of my birthday was going perfect, school went fast and eight of my friends had already informed me that their moms said yes they could come to my house. When I got home my Dad had balloons everywhere and the whole kitchen was pink in honor of my birthday. About 5 'o' clock is when my friends started to arrive. We laughed, played, talked, and ate. Before I know it all ended too soon, it was 8 and their rides were starting to arrive. Having so much fun with my friends I didn't notice that my father was being unusually loud and kind of rude. He made me clean everything up myself which is when I noticed the five cans of 211 beer in the trash.

He made me take a bath, watched me undress, get in and wash. He left after a few minutes but being so young I didn't think anything of it. I got out with my towel and went in my room where he was waiting with a new can of beer. He didn't say anything so neither did I, he was my father I said to myself. I was facing my dresser looking for Pj's and he said "Drop the towel". I did as I was told. I grabbed the first underwear, shirt, and pajama pants I ran into. Then he said " Turnnnn around" slurring the "turn". I did and got dressed, he smirked and without another word got up and left the room. I didn't know what that meant but he was my Dad and he loved me, he would never hurt me.
