How is it that everything could seem to be going so right, but so wrong at the same time? I was trying to get away. From him. From all of them. I wasn't going to be able to control myself anymore. He knew. They all knew. Maybe this was apart of their plan this whole time. Trap her, make her feel things she hasn't felt in hundreds of years. Make her suffer. But what I don't understand is...why me? Why did I have to betray my kind, all for the sake of some pesky human. I knew this wouldn't work. He tricked me. Told me things I wanted to hear.

"Erzsi!" It was him. Calling out to me. A piece of me wanted to stop, turn around and go back to him. But then my rational thinking took over. He knew. He knew. He knew. He had to know! He lived with them this whole time! Did he just expect me to accept this? To just get over it an move on? No! I am not like that. I am not some frightened little girl. That's when I started to slow down. Go at a jog instead of a sprint. I need to go back to how I was before. A stone, something you couldn't break. Something you couldn't hurt. Something you couldn't take. And that's when I stopped dead in my tracks. I'm hungry, oh so hungry. And I'm running from my food. I turned around and stood there. I knew my normally blue eyes, were now a deep dark red. That's how it got. I waited for him, and he came. He shouldn't have come. I'm not going to roll over and play dead anymore, that's not who I am. I watched him, with ry careful eyes.

"Come on Erzsi! You have to believe me! I didn't do it. I didn't know anything about it. I left them. They were my family, and I'm standing here for you." He says, dark green eyes staring into mine. I had to let him think he was safe.

"I know! I had to get away from them!" I let my voice quiver and my face soften, I will play the part of the sad little girl, the one who needs to be protected. "I waited on you. Come with me. We can go together! We can leave together." I held out my hand. I kept my eyes focused on the ground as he got closer. I couldn't let him see them or it would be over. I could hear his heartbeat, ringing in my ears, the sweet smell of blood, coursing through his body. He stepped closer, only about ten feet away now.

"Erzsi? Is everything okay?" He took one step closer, then another. "You won't even look at-" He stopped mid sentence as he figured it out. I wasn't going to leave with him alive. I looked up to see a panicked look on his face. He turned to run, and the memories of us flashed through my head. He wasn't going to hold me down. Not this time.

And I lunged forward.
