I walked down the point hallway, very slowly, making sure to make no sound. The building was half collapsed, wooden beams creaking, some broken with the roof caved in. It was perfect. Humans would hide out here, thinking that vampires wouldn't be able to maneuver all of wood sticking up, or rusty nails surrounding the pulled off walls. They would be right, but only for the Newborns. Newborns were crazy, and they died quickly. They would have what we call the Blood Lust. There's a point when vampires are so hungry that the world surrounding them doesn't exist anymore. All they can think of is blood, and they will do anything to get it. Including die, which defeats the purpose.

I easily maneuver through the pointing wood, and rusty nails. I am 769 years old, this is nothing for me. I reach the end of the hall and peek around the corner. Three humans. A man, his wife, and his child. I guess, I mean they look like they could be a happy family. The wife grabs the kids hand and rushes out. Maybe a less happy family. The man says nothing but a string of useless curse words. He turns his back to me, and starts walking forward. I don't vampire speed over. That's just what happens in the stories. In fact I can't really go any faster than humans. But many Bloodbags don't know that, and I don't intend to be the one to tell them different. I just casually walk behind him, and when he reaches a door, I snort. His head jerks back as he looks at me.

"Monster..." He whispers quietly, and then takes a step toward me. "How did you get in here?" I don't say anything, just stand there with my arms crossed. I'm quite perplexed by this guy. They usually try to run by now. I'm impressed.

"All I'm trying to do is survive. Just like you." I say, keeping my voice level. He starts to back up. Ah, there it is. The fear of dying. Every Bloodbag has it. They just assume I'm going to kill them. I lunge forward and grab the guy's throat. He tries to call out, I can hear his throat vibrating, but that only causes me to squeeze his throat tighter. No sound or air I getting out. I hold him there like that for about a minute before his eyes shut. No, he's not dead. Just passed out. I bite down into his neck, and the warm liquid slides down my throat. Mmm. I don't take enough to kill him, just enough that when he wakes up, he will be uneasy on his feet. I set him down on the ground and make my way out.

"HENRY!" I think the wife came back. "Monster! MONSTER!" She starts screaming. This is not good for me, especially when I hear footsteps. Of many people. I start running, which makes it harder to jump over and dodge all the obstacles of this place. If I can make it out into the open, I will be fine. It's night time, and I have the advantage. Plus there are more of my kind out there. I make it to the hole, the way I came in. I turn and stop when I get outside. There's a boy, coming out of the hole. He has bright blue hair, and is leaping out towards me. I can't do anything but stand there and watch him. I have never seen him around here before. Before he can make it to me, someone grabs his leg, causing the front part of his body to hit the stone rubble on the ground. I'm sure that felt good. The rest of the Bloodbags drag him back inside their 'Safe Haven'. I shake my head and run off into the woods.

I jog up to my small cabin in the woods. It's not much of anything in it, just a bed. Some clothes, a hairbrush, just the essentials. I don't live luxuriously like most vampires do. I don't even bother with listening to what's going on inside. Once I walk in, I wish I had.

"Granger!" I yell disgusted, as he covers him and some girl up on the couch. "Get out!" I yell, and walk over angrily. "Who are you?" I ask, throwing the covers off of them. "You!" I point an angry finger at the girl. "Get out! Now!" The girl scrambles up and heads for the door. I throw her clothes at her. I stop and glare at Granger, who just smirks at me.

"Don't you just lova good-" I cut him off before he finishes his, no doubt disgusting, sentence.

"I am letting you live here with me! You do not get to bring random girls here!" I yell. He just shrugs his shoulders.

"Don't act like you wouldn't want me." He says and shake my head.

"No! Not in a million years! Put some clothes on and get off of my couch! You are a disgusting creature!" I groan in frustration and walk away into my room, slamming the door. Granger is a friend of mine. He was a Newborn, and I helped him. Now I am forever stuck helping him. He's saved me a few times though, so I will gladly help him. But I will not tolerate him helping other girls into bed!

"Erzsi!" It's Granger. "Erzsi, I'm sorry." He appears in my doorway. "I know, I know, I shouldn't have any fun." He starts.

"I have never said anything like that. I just...want you to be careful is all." I tell him, crossing my arms uncomfortably in front of my chest.

"Ooh, is that jealousy I hear? Don't worry I can always throw you in a b-" I shiver and block him out. Not that Granger isn't attractive, or nice, he isn't all the time, it's just we're friends...and that's it.

And I can't get the guy with the blue hair out of my mind.
