Oh man, my head *Jonathan touched his head. Last night he was at a party with one of his mates and he got shit faced. But the party was amazing. Although now he may or may not be regretting his decision...*

*He tries to get back up. Memories started coming back to him, the party was wild. They even allowed borrowers, nasty little creatures. At least this time they had them inside a cage to protect them from humans. In the past during these parties, if borrowers were allowed many of them got crashed alive.* Lucky bastards. University pays everything for them. Life must be so easy

*He laid back down on his bed, he didn't feel ready to get up. He thought how easy life as a borrower would be and his body started becoming smaller and smaller. Everything around him was changing and becoming huge. His clothes didn't change with him, he shrunk inside them.* That is not convenient *Now at only 5 inches tall, he stared around at his massive room. It doesn't feel like his vibe really, the easy life is not something he is looking for. If it was, he would use his powers all the time. Imagine getting into a bank as a borrower, shrinking the money, and leaving. No one would suspect a thing really. But it was not for him*

*He sighs* I guess I have to get ready for history class *He turned his size to his normal 6'6" one. The room turned back to the way it was. At least now he didn't wear his pyjamas. He stood up, got dressed and left. He never had breakfast, he was never in the mood for any.*

*Thankfully, he lived close to the university, he was really lucky. There are not many apartments that would fit his budget that easily. He got there just in time and the professor had already started the lecture.* And that's when the first homo sapiens came to be. Back then, we all were one species, at the same size. But soon that would change *And the professor continued talking and talking. As if they don't know this part of their story, it's mandatory for all sizes.*

The story goes as such:

300 thousand years ago the first homo sapiens appeared on earth. They appeared somewhere around Africa. Then they started spreading. Some went to Europe, then to Asia. Blah blah blah. The important thing is that some of them went to Australia. Australia has been a very harsh environment since forever. Since 250 thousand years ago humans had a hard time surviving there and natural selection was harsher and harsher. From every generation only the largest humans would survive. Every next generation seemed to become bigger than the previous one, up to the point when 4 thousand years ago they became the giants we know today. They were savage and feral and that's why you couldn't see them outside Australia and the neighbouring islands. Thankfully for the humans, they couldn't reach Asia so that's all they had. They started developing and becoming more "humane" recently, about 5 hundred centuries, but they caught up easily and learnt our language and ways. Their way of life is somewhat modern, up to the point their size really allows.

Then we have the borrowers. Borrowers and humans co-existed in the same places. The separation of the species happened after many thousands of years. Some humans lived in calmer environments, others in harsher. The humans continued hunting, planting, basically living off the world with all the ways they could. Borrowers on the other hand were kind of smaller, shorter. Instead of hunting they were trying to hide and resulted in eating insects and Small plants. They didn't get the nutrients they needed and their bodies started shrinking and eventually they became tiny. They existed and survived mainly in human societies after some time, hiding in the shadows and trying not to be noticed. Although they didn't manage to hide that well...

Through the ages humans were not as mindful as they are now. They treated every person differently according to their size.. humans would eat borrowers when they saw them... And when humans would go to the forbidden lands (Australia), they would be the ones hunted by the giants. That led to humans stopping fighting among each other and uniting to face the giant threat, but as you can imagine that didn't work. In the end they signed treaties with the giants at first, allowing them to browse their lands but only when escorted by a giant, which happened in the 1900s. As for the borrowers, since they were a delicacy for humans, they are now in the talks about a peace treaty. But how they are being treated really depends on humans and countries. As for giants and borrowers... Well borrowers are closer to what ants are for humans, they are ok with them, but don't really care.
