Bruce's Pov

I looked up at the large complex. A concrete building covered in dead moss bushes and greyed grass as a lawn. The windows were broken and boarded multiple times over with wood and yellow caution tape warning others to not enter.

"I can't believe we only got 1 day of rest. That guy is really trying to kill us." Cole said, yawning and looking up at the building with me.

"I can't believe he actually gave us a day off," I replied to his statement. 

We walked up to the broken doorframe, the stale air escaping the building and hitting us as we entered. 

"So why are we here?" Cole asked.

"Locals reported screams and missing children in the area," I replied.

"Why is it always children, do these sick fucks have nothing better to do?" He responded disgusted.

"I don't know, but be prepared. I smell a lot of blood, so I don't think a pretty scene awaits us." I responded, stepping forward into the complex.

We walked through the building, making our way up to the 3rd floor. The floor was open with only pillars obstructing our view. 

(Warning, skip if you want. This will be bad, even for me.)

There were 12 bodies, 10 of them were beast folk looking no older than 5. The 2 were human, both infants less than a year old. The beast was naked and spread out in a circle with their hands and feet nailed into the concrete flooring below. Their faces were distorted as well as their limbs, pain, and misery filled their horrified expressions. The stomachs were slit open with several feet of intestines stretched across the flooring in each direction. In the center where the 2 infants were, body mangled beyond recognition, and also nailed to the floor. (The large steel nails, not small ones)

"It looks like some Satanic ritual. Sick bastard." Cole said.

"I've seen these guys before, they worship the God of Blood. I have seen a few of their scenes before. Never really kids though, don't understand why this guy is different." I said looking at the scene. 

Cole leaned down to get a closer inspection. Placing his fingers on the body and mapping lacerations. He suddenly stopped and then leaned his head down on one of the bodies.

"HOLLY SHIT!! THIS ONE IS ALIVE!!" He scratched, looking back at me.

I rushed over to take a look, and sure enough, the small child followed me with its eyes as I approached.

"What the fuck do we do, there are no hospitals that will take a beast," Cole said sitting back, defeated.

"We do the only thing we can do," I said, pulling out my sword.

"For the sins of the damned and the innocence of the weak. I release you." I chanted to myself as I brought the sword through the small girl's head.

After Cole's examination, he was able to deduce that the act took place around 5-10 minutes before we had arrived. The power behind the cuts was weak and slow, so he assumed that it was done by a human with no traits. He covered his tracts well, as I could not smell him or his trail. Normally in this situation, I would cut my losses and go home, but with Cole, we can Holmes this shit.

In one of the girl's hands was a silver watch, it had gold lining and a small note on the backside. It said 'To Tom, with Love. And to match your favorite Necklace.' I didn't think much of it, but Cole thought otherwise. I waited for Cole's explanation of what went down.

"Alright, I think I got it. First off, this guy is a wealthy man within a marrying age. His name is Tom and he knows his way around this area. By the way, this area is so well placed, it was predetermined and had been acted out through methodic thinking. But what he doesn't know is that there is only one crossing section in this area, making it really easy to know where he will be heading. What's better is that he is not a hard man to deal with, his cuts were slow and weak unfortunately for the victims. Speaking of, they were all malnourished and weak before the incident, some having vitamin deficiencies or being sick. This means that he also knew his victims, as he knew who, where, and what about each of them. Also, the cutting was really efficient, almost perfectly placed to lose the least amount of blood and still have access to the organs." He stated proud.
