3 - Contemplations

I'm really sorry this took so long, I actually had my birthday and my 3 projects due in a week, tee hee?

I hope there will be more action in the next chapters, possibly chapters 6-7! 

Btw, should I post this on AO3 after I finish the book??

"Ah.. hey." Gojo continued, glancing back at the wall as if he was trying to escape again.

He must've taken more time than he thought, because Shoko continued, "don't try going over the wall again." 

He turns back again, and almost immediately feels his face turning sheepishly red. He might not trust some people in the castle, but there were some exceptions that he could trust his life with. And therefore he told his most closest friend about his epic escape plan before he had left.

"And I assumed you weren't coming back?" Shoko raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. Satoru could only shrug, tilting his head and pointing to his Six Eyes.

"I may have forgotten my sunglasses.." he paused, "and some riches for the journey.." Satoru said, earning a frown from Shoko.

"Of course you forget the most important part of the plan." She put a hand to her hips with a shake of her head, an amused expression taking place.

Satoru shook his head, changing the subject, "I-yes, that's true. But I got some news I want to tell you."

"Oh? What is it?" Shoko asked, turning around to walk ahead of him. Satoru caught up with his friend, walking side by side, acting as if Satoru hadn't just magically appeared after five days of his disappearance. 

Satoru racked his brain, thinking of an excuse as fast as he could. What could he mention, the fact that there was a cottage right in front of the palace walls? No, that would be too risky for his friend. He settled with the excuse that he had met a new friend he met on the way to the next town. "Ah, hum, you see, I actually met a guy on my way to the next town, Kyoto." Satoru glanced back again, apparently paranoid that someone would hear him. "He actually helped me a lot after I said I was blind, didn't take advantage of me or anything." 

Shoko let out a sharp laugh, "Seriously? This guy must've been an angel, because not many people take care of others without anything in return. He doesnt know youre from the Palace, right?" Satoru took too long to respond, and Shoko's expression changed in an instant. "You can't be too trusting with others, Gojo. You know better than this!" Shoko shook her head, as if disappointed.

"I know! He just.. happened to see me fall off the castle walls and.. faint." He winced at his poor excuse and looked everywhere but his friend's face, knowing full well she was looking at him like he had grown two heads.

"..He didn't see your Six Eyes, right? Because no matter-" Satoru rolled his eyes and flicked his wrist, making Shoko stop talking. 

"Yeah, yeah, no matter how kind people are they would always be hiding bad intentions? I remember this lecture, shoko, I've been listening to that sentence on repeat every day for about, I don't know, my entire life?" He only got a pointed look, and Shoko gently shook her head, smiling. 

"Well, since you came back, I'm guessing he didn't see your eyes then, that's good. You made sure no one else saw you, right?" Satoru nodded, "alright. By the way, your father was having a ghastly heart attack, he was worried about you." 

"Of course he did." He muttered under his breath, reaching the castle walls. He looked around and saw that the guards had spotted him, their eyes bulging at the sight of their newly found missing prince. He gave them their best charming smile, waving at them as if this was another normal day. "Could you tell my father that he doesnt need to worry about me running off again? I feel rather bad for having him to fuss over my, ah, disappearance." That seemed to do the trick, the guards regained their composure, schooling their expressions and nodding despite sprinting for the King's room.
