I pick up the empty box and walk to the bin in the cafeteria.

One thing wid daddy hospital the food always taste good.

I go to the NCB app to see that they indeed sent me money this morning.

I'm assigned to the accident and emergency ward so that's where I'm heading back.

Did fi go look fimi likkle fren enuh but when mi ready fi leave mi go round deh.

"Hello, how are you feeling now?" I ask the patient laying on the bed.

I take the clip board from out of the bed holder and read the file.

Okay so they are here because of a motor vehicle accident from last week but they should be discharged tomorrow.

Just a little shooken up that's all.

"I'm okay and actually ready to go home" She smiles at me.

"Good to hear that" I return her smile. "Your doing fine, I just came to check up on you" I place the clipboard back in the holder.

"Okay have a nice day darling" She waves.

I exit the room and head to the nurses station.

I don't speak to the other nurses here because I simply don't mix friendship with work.

Dem could a say mi hype one more time I don't give af.

"You want it in a style or just plain suh?" I ask Jelyah as I part her hair in two.

Her hair is the same texture as mine. Soft, curly and oily.

"You can just add some hearts if you like" She reply not looking away from the cartoon she's watching on my phone.

But wait a who tell her mi can do hearts?

I start to laugh "Afta mi nuh know if mi can do hearts".

"It don't have to be perfect".

"Okay I'll try" I catch her hair with the scrunchie.

I've gotten closer to her within the pass few days. She's like a bubble that just warms up your cold days.

We're so similar too. But I've never heard her speak about her mother just her father and I don't want to pry in her business.
