. 𝟎𝟏𝟏・ (𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐭) 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 (1/2)

It always feels oddly like home, being in the Studio Choom studios. It's a feeling that Hyunjin suspects should theoretically be more applicable to the JYP practice studios, but those have begun to feel very...suffocating over the years.

He's usually able to gloss over that fact, but he won't deny that he much prefers it here. Maybe it's the lack of mirrored walls all around him? Well, whatever it is, he plans to make the most of his time here.

Through the mirror and the bristles of an eyeshadow brush, he sees Jeongin off in the corner of the dressing room running through the choreography. Changbin's next to him checking himself out, and he grins when Minho calls out an embellished compliment about his arms.

Just another day with his members' shenanigans.

Then something pulls his gaze away from them, and Hyunjin finds himself looking at the top of Felix's head from where his boyfriend's looking at something on Chan's screen. It's pretty damn surreal, how things have developed over the last few months. He thumbs absently at the thin ring around his finger, and as if on cue, Felix glances up at him.

Felix smiles at him, the very one that wormed its way into his heart all those years ago and never left since. Suddenly, Hyunjin feels extremely guilty – he'd lost the couple rings a week or two ago, and Felix was incredibly understanding about it all.

(Hyunjin supposes it isn't the first time he's lost them, much less losing something in general. Felix and the rest of the group have had plenty of chances to deal with Hyunjin's tendency to lose things.)

Replacements are on the way, but for the time being, Felix offered up one of his own rings. Hyunjin didn't want to take it at first because the rings are meant to be paired together, but Felix gave a very compelling argument in the form of kisses that managed to convince him.

So now, they're two halves of a whole.

Hyunjin would return the smile if he could, but with the makeup artist right in front of him, he can't risk it. That's okay though, he'll make it up to Felix later.

Before he knows it, they're shepherded onto the set and the cameras come to life all around them. They've got a bit of time before filming starts to just fool around and farm content for the behind-the-scenes video, and fooling around is something that they do on a daily basis.

At some point between light changes, stopwatch games, and bottle flips, Hyunjin finds Felix and presses his half of the couple rings into Felix's hand.

"In case it flies off," he says a little sheepishly, and Felix's lips quirk.

Felix slides the ring back onto his index finger. "Be careful today. Don't do something silly like put your weight on your injured hand just to execute the move perfectly."

Appropriately chastised, Hyunjin catches the moment Felix's gaze flickers down to his mouth before returning to his eyes. He wants that too, but it's most definitely impossible at this time and place.

"Be careful," Felix repeats, then steps away to answer Minho's call. 

Filming goes swimmingly well, and Hyunjin even finds the confidence to talk about his brand-new hair. It's a big change, that much he knows, and he's also very aware of the fact that it will be a hit or miss with most. But if he's being completely honest, he doesn't care about what other people think. Felix told him halfway through the haircut – via Facetime on Jeongin's phone – that he looked cute, and that's the only opinion that matters to him.

It's still light out when they wrap things up. As they change into comfy clothes, someone suggests ordering pizza for dinner before they have to eat clean in preparation for the comeback stages, and it's a suggestion that they unanimously agree on.
