Summary: You soothe him after Tamlin has a nightmare.

The night was still and calm over the Spring Court. The only sound was of rustling plants outside the open bedroom window you shared with your love. You were almost asleep when Tamlin started to thrash in his sleep. A low growl rumbled from his chest. "Tamlin" you called softly as you went to touch his shoulder. Suddenly his eyes snapped open. Raw fear shown in them as he suddenly shifted into his beast form. Landing on the floor so hard you swore the room shook.

He let out a deep, fierce roar and snarled at the closed bedroom door. Like he expected someone or something to come through it. His muscles tensed as if he were ready to pounce in an instant. You carefully slid off the bed. "Tamlin, it's ok," you said gently and calmly, "it was a nightmare". He didn't seem to hear you as his eyes remained locked on the door. Teeth bared as he snarled deeply.

"Tamlin," you called voice still gentle but firm, "look at me,". Tamln's ears seemed to twitch as if he were finally registering your voice.

He turned his head his eyes meeting yours. Your heart ached at the fear and confusion in them. "It's ok. We're safe. I'm safe,". You tell him as you walk to the door and open it. "See, nothing or no one out there,". Tamlin seemed to sniff as if trying to sense any danger that way.

"It's ok my love," you gently walked to him and threaded your fingers through the golden fur on top of his head. He tip his head careful of his horns and nuzzled your hand. He then relaxed and Laid there on the rug in the room. You happily sat with him nestled against his side as you pat him.

"There we go," you said softly. Soon Tamlin's eyes closed and his breathing softened. You planted a soft kiss into his fur.

"Sleep peacefully my love," you whispered before you snuggled more into his soft, warm side and closed your eyes.
