CHAPTER 37
Previously...
Skylar closed her eyes, she said a brief prayer and then slowly spun in a circle. A roaring laugh caught her attention and she stopped. Opening her eyes, she looked over the field and saw two demons fighting side by side. The former warrior angel grinned as several demons tried to take him down.
Her brows furrowed in thought. "They say that nothing's impossible."

"Come in, child."
Skylar peeked into the room as the demon smoothed a sheet over her Balm's naked form. "Sorry to disturb you but I need to test your blood."
"Mine?"
"Yes."
The demon's brows furrowed.
"Please?" Skylar begged before she could be questioned.
Nodding reluctantly, Plethora held out her hand. Skylar carefully placed the needle tip into the vial and stirred. The reaction was instantaneous. The liquid turned a bright shiny gold.
"It's a miracle." Skylar whispered.
Present...
The cabin was quiet and the only sound was of the sleeping werewolf's breathing. The young seer sat across from a very confused demon.
The incubus was perplexed. "What does that mean?"
"The closing of the rip in the veil that separates this world from the underworld would require a great sacrifice that will affect everyone from this generation and onward. However, there is a chance of restoration but again a sacrifice must be made."
Plethora swallowed the lump of fear that was in her throat as dread overtook her mind. "What further sacrifice?"
"The child you now carry."
"WHAT?!" Plethora roared in angry disbelief making Sam suddenly sit up in disoriented alarm.
"What's wrong?!" he half-shouted.
Contrite that she had awakened Sam from his much-needed rest, Plethora stopped him from leaping off the bed. As much as she wanted to soothe her Balm, Plethora's mind was too occupied with the information the young girl had tried to impart. "What do you mean, Seer?! And you had better be clear!"
"You're pregnant but the child you carry will serve a greater purpose so for now, you have to give your unborn child's spirit to me." Skylar said conjuring the capsule she obtained from her mother's letters.
Plethora was still in shock.
"I'm going to give you a few minutes to talk with your Balm about it but time is of the essence." Skylar said as she left the bedroom and went downstairs. Sam wasn't sure what Skylar was talking about but his mind was occupied by the announcement that his mate was pregnant.
"So Legion is going to be a father?" Sam asked quietly, inwardly his heart was breaking and his wolf whimpered with more hurt than he had ever felt before. It occurred to him that his mate must have a lot of children with the demon given their age and need to feed through sex.
"No." Plethora said, shaking her head. "It's almost impossible for a fallen angel to give birth to an actual child and not some red monstrosity in hell, we would need to be seeded by our Balm. It was a blessing that the Creator allowed for us. There are exceptions like Razdor who was able to possess a wizard and use his seed to impregnant multiple women. That is the reason that Mido's offspring do not have a demon's curse."
