"You'll be the prince, and I'll be the princess."

Heer's POV✨

The excitement in the Malhotra house had reached its peak. Just one day left until Heer would be flying off to New York, and her room was nothing short of a battlefield-suitcases open, clothes piled high, and a very stressed Heer sitting in the middle of it all.

"Ma! Main kya pehnu wahan?" ("Ma! What should I wear there?") Heer groaned, holding up a few outfits.
"Mere paas toh kapde hi nahi hain!" ("I don't even have clothes!")Naina and Adrika, her mother and bhabhi, exchanged amused glances.
"Beti, yeh 'kapde nahi hain' wali complaint toh har ladki ki hai!" Naina teased, shaking her head. ("Daughter, this 'I have no clothes' complaint is the universal issue for every brown Indian girl!")Adrika chuckled, sitting down beside Heer.
"Heer, tu bas sab uthake daal de. Wahan jaake waise bhi shopping hi karni hai, right?" ("Heer, just put everything in. You're going to shop there anyway, right?")
Heer groaned dramatically, flopping back onto her bed. "Ugh, haan. Lekin kapde kaise set karun? Wahan ka mausam bhi nahi pata mujhe!" ("Ugh, yeah. But how do I decide what to pack? I don't even know the weather there!")Her bhabhi grinned, folding some clothes.

"New York hai, madam. Fashion capital! Teri shopping wahan jaake shuru hogi. Hum toh bas basics daal rahe hain abhi." ("It's New York, madam. Fashion capital! Your shopping will begin once you get there. We're just packing the basics now.") Amidst the clothes chaos, little Shourya, Heer's adorable nephew, was having the time of his life. He giggled as he ran around with one of Heer's scarves wrapped around his head like a superhero cape.

"Bui! Dekho main hero hoon!" ("Auntie! Look, I'm a hero!") Heer smiled despite her packing stress.
"Haan, haan, aap toh hero hai, bas ab kapde mat girana!" ("Yeah, yeah, you're a hero, just don't drop the clothes!") But of course, Shourya was too busy enjoying the chaos to listen. He continued his little superhero run, scattering a few more clothes in the process.
Naina picked them up, shaking her head with a laugh.
"Isko bhi New York le jaa rahi hai kya?" ("Are you taking him to New York too?")Heer sat up, dramatically clutching her head.
"Kaash le jaa sakti, Ma! Ek toh mujhe Disha se milne ka excitement hai, upar se itna bada project. Aur abhi tak mujhe nahi pata main kya pack karun!"
("I wish I could take him, Ma! I'm excited to meet Disha, plus this huge project. And I still don't know what to pack!") Adrika handed Heer a pair of shoes. "Acha, sab basics pack kar, aur accessories toh wahan se le lena. Wahan ka style alag hota hai, aur tu wahan fit ho jayegi. Plus, Disha tere saath hamesha hai." ("Okay, pack all the basics, and get the accessories from there. The style there is different, and you'll fit right in. Plus, Disha is always there with you.")
Heer beamed at the mention of Disha, already imagining the reunion.
"Haan bhabhi, aap thik keh rahe ho. Wahan jaake hum dono kitni masti karenge! Imagine kar, Disha ke saath New York mein ghoomna, wah!" ("Yeah bhabhi, you're right. We're going to have so much fun together! Imagine hanging out in New York with Disha, wow!")Naina smiled warmly at her daughter's excitement.
"We'll miss you a lot, but I'm happy to see you working on such a project. But take care of yourself and call regularly."
Heer nodded earnestly, throwing a few more dresses into the suitcase.
"Don't worry Ma, Disha will be with me, and I'll call you every day." Little Shourya, now sitting in the middle of the mess, was playing with Heer's shoes. He looked up, his big eyes curious.
"Bui, aap wahan superman banne jaa rahe ho naa?" ("Auntie, are you going there to become Superman?")Heer laughed, picking him up and placing him on her lap.
"Haan meri cutiee, bas Superman nahi, main bui ban ke wapas aaungi!" ("Yes, my cutiee, just not Superman, I'll come back as your auntie!")
The packing was finally starting to come together, though Heer still had a lot of decisions to make. But amidst the mess, the excitement for New York-and for meeting Disha-kept her going. Tomorrow would be her last day at home, and the next day, a whole new adventure awaited her.But for now, she'd savor these last moments with her family and little Shourya's giggles echoing in the background.
