Day 1
I woke up that night, i had dreamt about that day.
How they laughed on as they murdered my family.
My little brother and little sister, gone.
I looked over to see Cindy crying.
I walked over to her and hugged her tightly.
I knew what she's was going through, everyone knew.
But that is what made us closer than ever before because each other is all we had.
I rocked her and repeatedly said "shhh its gonna be okay"'until she cried herself to sleep.
I watched the sun rise which brought horror to my eyes.
Burned buildings, fallen trees and light polls and bodys.
When everyone was up we had to face our first challenge: food.
We all gathered around a broken table in the ware house, we decided to spilt into groups of 2 and bring as much food as possible back to our "base", but would only go as far in a 1 mile radius for safety reasons.
We would worry about supplies later..
!We tried to pair up by boy and girl I paired up with Damian and we were responsible for looking for water.m Tap water wasn't going to do it because it had been contaminated with anthrax, so bottled was are next option.
We made are way through a Walmart close by and gathered 2 baskets full of water bottles.
As we were walking out Damian spotted a dog hiding behind a checkout counter.
I insisted we leave but he was so stubborn at times. I waited at the door way, Damian finally came back but wasn't alone.
Not only did he have a full grow German shepherd but also her 8 puppies following her in a train style.
I looked at him like he was crazy and told him no, but he put them in the baskets and we walked back with not only water but more mouths to feed.
I guess finding the puppies wasn't such a bad thing after all, it was the happiest I'd seen my friends in the past 24 hours.
They played with them and named them which I told them not to cause then they would get attached and urhh it was too complicated.
One puppy found himself sitting on my foot I looked at him and he looked back, then I had an idea!
We could use the dogs to survive and warn us if there were enemies around and they could protect and keep us company.
We needed more though, we had 9 but 15 people.
There was a petsmart about 2 miles away and I knew there were puppies/dogs that we could train and use.
So I took a group of 5 and set off with nothing but some water and ropes.
We came back with some other dogs that could be an asset to our survival and I also found something on our way back, on the side of the rode, a bag of something.
It was cocaine.
I don't know what I was thinking, maybe it would take the pain away or make me forget the horrible memories.
That night after every one was asleep I got up and pulled the bag out Of my hoodie and went outside.
I grabbed a dollar and sniffed it up. Callaghan just watching me with his curious eyes.
It made me feel weird but good too.
It burned my nose, and made tears come out of my eyes and I started coughing loudly.
I heard someone open the exit door and threw the bad into a bush.
It was Tori.
She heard something and decided to come outside.
She asked my what I was doing and why I was "crying" I told her I couldn't sleep and came out for some fresh air. She looked at me funny but I convinced her I was ok and we went inside and slept with the others.
