The Sword Saintess' anger began to wane upon hearing this, and she gradually calmed down, returning to her usual composed self.
"You're right. I am the blade of the people; I cannot leave you," she firmly declared.
If she were to leave, the residents of Lighttowne would be vulnerable to another massacre. Furthermore, she had expended significant energy using her Ultimate Sword Skill and needed time to recover.
Seeing that the Sword Saintess had decided to stay, Beck breathed a long sigh of relief. "Thank goodness, finally... finally, I can sleep now," he muttered before collapsing to the ground.
The battle had been devastating. What was supposed to be a mission to drive away the dragons and rebuild their home had turned into a nightmare.
Over a hundred residents were slaughtered, and many of the surviving women had been violated by the goblins. Even the Sharp Blade Adventurer Squad was annihilated.
"Lowell, I've already requested your aid from the royal family. What happens next is up to you. To think goblins captured you... I have no face left to rescue you," the Sword Saintess coldly remarked before beginning her surveillance, trying to locate where the goblins had emerged.
Compared to the townspeople, she would instead abandon Lowell and the others. However, that didn't mean she wouldn't seek vengeance against the goblins. Once the royal knights arrived, she set out to exterminate every goblin tribe in the surrounding Entranched Forest, cleansing the shame of today.
...
"Let go of me! You disgusting, lowly creatures!" Lowell's voice echoed through the forest, filled with rage. His body was paralyzed by poison, rendering him unable to move.
"Captain, what do we do? Will the Sword Saintess come to save us?" Evelria sobbed, dragging herself across the ground like a pile of garbage. She had never been in such a wretched state.
Lowell reassured her, "My master will definitely come. We need to hold on and wait for an opportunity to escape."
Thus, they were led back to the goblin tribe. Oliver was in charge of cleaning up, ensuring that no traces of their passage remained.
"You're back? And you managed to capture two humans?" Leah, inside a cage, was shocked. It was hard to believe they had succeeded! Not only had they invaded human territory, but they had also managed to capture humans. Who would have thought that a goblin tribe without even a single high-tier monster could achieve this?
Lowell, still defiant, scoffed, "You're just a bunch of lowly goblins. Once I regain a bit of my strength... what?!"
He was utterly stunned when he saw the scene inside the goblin village.
Elves!
The goblins had enslaved a large number of elves! Even adventurers like them dared not provoke the elf tribes.
"This is bad! There might be a hero-class goblin in this tribe!"
At this moment, Lowell could no longer maintain his defiance. If there was a hero-class goblin, there was little chance they would survive long enough for the Sword Saintess to rescue them.
He watched in horror as the elves, completely naked, were subjected to the goblins' grotesque advances. Evelria's pupils shook, her eyes bloodshot. She couldn't bear to imagine such a thing happening to her—especially as a holy priestess.
"Boss, where are the others? Why is it just you who returned?" Goblin Moon asked curiously.
Oliver sighed, "You don't know? We encountered a dragon attack. It was chaos, and they all died."
