Edward was in full pep-talk mode with Jacob and Riley, who looked like they'd rather face a coven of Volturi than the idea of getting married today. He was trying to reassure them, but they were as pale as vampires. After all, today was the day they'd officially be turning their girlfriends into their wives.

"Relax guys," Edward chuckled, smirking as Jacob ran a shaky hand through his hair for the thousandth time. "It's just marriage."

Jacob shot him a look that clearly said, Easy for you to say; you're already doomed or well, married.

Just then, Carlisle and Esme appeared with both smiling warmly. "Edward, it's time," Esme said, giving him an encouraging nod and pointing toward the house.

Edward gave Jacob and Riley a last reassuring smile, trying not to laugh at their horrified faces and headed inside.

Making his way upstairs, he passed Bella's room, where she was having a private moment with her family. He gave them a quick wave, letting his mind linger briefly on his own wedding day before he continued toward his daughter's room.

"Hey-y, Se-" Edward started, but his voice caught as soon as he saw her.

There stood Seraphina, surrounded by the family, looking like a dream. His little girl was all grown up and the sight hit him square in the chest.

"Dad"

Seraphina said, giving him a look as the others stepped aside, letting him take in her full appearance.

Edward's breath stilled as he took her in. His little Fifi, the baby he'd once rocked to sleep and cherished in ways he hadn't known were possible for a vampire, was about to get married. When did that happen? he wondered,

Suddenly, he felt ancient. Like an ageless vampire, yet somehow the father of the bride.

"You look... marvelous," he said softly, a proud smile spreading across his face. "Just like your mom on our wedding day." He pulled her into a warm hug, and she leaned her head against his chest, one lone tear slipping down her cheek.

But, of course Alice had to make her entrance.

"Oh no, no, no!" Alice shrieked, marching over like a tiny, terrifying general. "Do you have any idea how long that makeover took? And we're not about to ruin it now!" She whipped out her makeup brush and dabbed away Seraphina's tear with precision, giving Edward a disapproving look. "Emotional dads," she muttered, rolling her eyes.

Edward chuckled, stepping back as Alice fussed over Seraphina like an artist touching up her masterpiece.

He glanced around at his quirky, chaotic family and felt a deep, quiet gratitude. But he wouldn't trade them for the world.

And as he looked at Seraphina, his fierce, witty little Fifi, he knew he was ready for this moment or as ready as he'd ever be.
