Alora's POV

My peaceful sleep was unfortunately wrecked by the blaring of my alarm. 7:00 AM, first day of senior year, so incredibly sleep deprived I already wanted to rip the barely functioning dusty fan out of my ceiling and throw it at someone. Thankfully fall had already settled into my town Roseport, summer barely lasted anyway. I rub my eyes and get out of bed, I let out a tired sigh as my feet hit the cold hard wood floor. My body aching, I stand up and and tip- toe down the hall to quietly use the bathroom.

After that I once again tip-toe back to my room and quickly apply my makeup, I put on my mascara and curl my lashes til they almost hit my eyebrows, I apply black liner to my waterline and finally put on a layer of lip gloss. It wasn't that i didn't want to wear more makeup but it's just too expensive, my sister Sylvia does it though but that's cause shes's got the cash. I pull on a pare of dark blue flare jeans and a baggy brown crewneck that fell under the zipper of my jeans. I quickly run my fingers through my slightly dishelvled curls before putting on a random pair of hoops and my beat up red converses. I sling my old black tote bag over my shoulder and make my way into the hall.

I gradually tip-toe down the stairs making sure I didn't hit any creaks and wake up my blacked out drunk dad on the couch, if he wakes up It'll be over for me especially if he's in a bad mood. I finally make my way out of the house and down the street with my headphones in as they blast the song "I Wanna Be Yours" By the Arctic Monkeys a slight smile paints my lips as I crush the dry fall leaves under my shoe on my way to Rosey Perk. I was in and out of the cafe in a jif, I grab my usual Iced caramel latte off the counter and wish the barista a good day. It didn't matter what season it was, Iced coffee has been my lifelong savior since middle school.

Upon my arrival at Roseport high school a default eye roll hits my face, It was impossible not to when it was the same thing for the past four years. That emotion disappears when I see my best friend Adelia run towards me and engulf me in a hug.

"Hey I missed you!" barely breathing from her tight hug I reply

"Me too! I know we just got back but all the cuntbag boys and bitchface girls are killing me, I can't wait to graduate"

"God me too, everyone here is such a loser"

"I think we're the ones they think are losers" After that sentence we both break into laughter.

I hate my dad, this school, these rich kids, my dingy ceiling fan but one thing I don't hate is my best friend Adelia. These kids may be shitty but this town's all I've got.
