Chapter Nine

PART I

BEGINNINGS OF THE END

When Gwen finally felt ground under her feet, she instantly fell over. Her legs were wobbly and gel-like and she felt like she couldn't control her body. Thora swiftly helped her to her feet. "Will you be alright to walk a few hours to the end portal", Thora asked worriedly. "Yeah, I'll be fine", Gwen lied. She leaned heavily on Thora along the way to the portal.

Cold, musty wind buffeted against Gwen's face as they walked downwards into the end portal room.

PART II

SILENCE BEFORE THE STORM

Nessira and Daylon sat side by side. "Thank you, it really did help", Nessira lied. Daylon had spent hours calming her down and convincing her that nothing bad would happen. Daylon said nothing but smiled kindly at her. Nessira felt bad, all that he'd said meant nothing, she was still very anxious.

Everything just felt off, like the silence and peace was fake. She didn't know how to explain it, but it just felt. Daylon had noticed her scrunched face. "Is anything wrong". "Everything just feels off"

PART III

SECRET PLANS

When Monisha woke up, the camp was already buzzing with life. Monisha poked her head out in the opening, looking for any familiar faces. She snuck out and over towards the biggest tent. She heard voices from the inside.

She peeked through a little hole in the tent. Many people and ardoni were standing around a table.

"We will set out as soon as darkness falls", a female Sendaris said. Monisha looked at her, admiring her beautiful icy-blue markings like a ribcage on her body. Her light grayish blue hair in a high ponytail, a few strands were braided nicely. "We travel today", she said. "Then what do we do with Acheria?", a very tall Kaltaris said. "Pick her up in Ireden and bring her with your team", the Sendaris said. "Bring her with us, that traitor?!", he asked.

"When you are done...kill her", her ice-cold voice filled the silent room. Monisha's stomach turned and her words rung in her mind When you are done...kill her.
