THE CITY OF PROGRESS
Vi climbed up a wall, hardly grabbing every brick in it to go higher. Noticing that it will only take few more steps, she looked down to the four teenagers.
„We're almost there!" She said, getting back to climbing, as the other four groan. „Aw, man..." was all Claggor could say.
When Vi, finally made it to the roof of the building, she looked ahead at the view of Piltover. As much as she disliked this city, she needed to agree that the view was on point.
„Hey, Powder!" she said to her brother, as he slowly arrived to the roof.
„Come take a look." Powder came over to Vi, also looking at the view in front of him. „Whoa..." was the only thing he said, being mesmerizes by the citys visuals.
„It's nice getting above it all, huh?" At the same time two siblings were watching the city, the other three made it to the roof, standing behind the duo. As they stayed in silence, one of the blimps flew right next to them.
„One day, I'm gonna ride one of those things." Said Powder, as (Y/N) came closer to him, giving his shoulder a little squeeze of approval.
„And one day," Mylo started. „I'm gonna shoot one of'em down." He ended, doing a a move like he just shooted something with a gun.
Vi just hitted his hand and started walking ahead to their final destination, while Powder and (Y/N) gave him a look.
„Vi, are you sure about this?" Claggor asked. He always was the one with the most responsibility, always thinking about different scenarios that might happen. „Look, if we get caught, we're-„
„We're not gonna get caught." The pink haired girl quickly answered, being sure of herself. The plan was perfect, there was no way they will get caught. They all stopped, once they saw Vi looking at the distance between two buildings.
„We'll be in and out before anyone notices." Being sure of what moves she needs to make, Vi prepared herself.
„All right, everybody, follow me. Just... don't look down." Vi said, as she secured the bag around her shoulders. Suddenly, she slided down the roof, jumping from it to a momentum. Grabbing the railing, she got her energy back, jumping over to another roof.
The other four just looked at her with amazement. Claggor, being the first one to shake it off, decided to go after her, but Mylo beat him to it.
Doing exactly what Vi did before him, Mylo got to the other roof in no time. As he landed, he smirked, but it was quickly wipped off by Claggor. Heavily landing, he was almost done eating a cupcake that he got from the window on the first roof.
„Couldn't we have at least just walked there?" He said, not being enthusiastic about this whole situation.
„Gotta stay out of sight for this one." Vi answered, looking to the other roof, where Powder and (Y/N) still were.
Seeing her stare on them, (Y/N) took some deep breaths and started jumping, just like the older kids did. She needed to stop on momentum to take a breath again, which caused the other teens to get scared for a second. But after a minute, she jumped over, Claggor making sure to catch her. Seeing his best friend being so brave, made Powder even more anxious. He just looked at the gap between them.
„This is on you, Vi." Mylo said as he came over to (Y/N), making sure her breathing is fine.
„I'll get him." Claggor stated, already getting up.
„No!" Vi quickly made him stop in his tracks, turning around to look at her brother.
„Powder, look at me!" She shouted, hoping that people on the streets will be to busy with themselfs. „What did I tell you?"
„That... I'm ready." Powder said, needing a moment to say it with confidence.
„That's right! So?" Powder just looked at her, trying to encourage himself. After a minute, Powder finally took a slide down the roof, taking the same steps as his other friends did. Screaming here and there from fear, he made it to the final jump. He was succesful, but started falling right after making it. (Y/N) gasped, seeing her friend almost fall. Thankfully, Vi was there and caught him.
„Phew! Thanks." was all he said after that. As soon as he got his balance back, he was taken into a hug. Looking down he saw (Y/N) with eyes closed, her head on his chest. He hugged her back, one hand in her hair, comforting her. He wished this moment could take a little longer, but once he saw Mylo mocking him for almost falling, he lightly patted his friends head, making her slowly step away from him.
All of them got right back to moving ahead. They were, once again, walking on a edge of the building.
„What if Vander finds out we're all the way up here?" Claggor asked, still not being sure of this plan.
„Look around you. You think anyone topside's going hungry? Besides, this is exactly the sort of job Vander would've pulled when he was our age." Vi reasoned. When they came to the right window, Vi stopped, making the others do the same.
„I'm going. Are you with me or not?" She asked, getting irritated. Giving in, Claggor sighed.
„Vander's gonna kill us..."
„Yeah, only if we screw up. So don't screw up." Not waiting for their answer, Vi swinged down the roof, jumping to a terace. She looked around, making sure no one saw her. She also checked and saw that the room was clear.
„All clear." She said to them. Mylo jumps right after Vi and checks if the door is open. When he made sure it's closed, he only groaned.
„Who locks their balcony?" He said, but still took out his locksmith, working on unlocking the door.
Claggor, being on the roof, helped Powder and (Y/N) get down. Vi held her hands out to take the girl first. When she was secure, she took Powders hand, also making sure he got there safetly. Then, Claggor got on the balcony as the last one.
„Whew..." he sighs, looking down at the street to notice many guards. „There's tons of enforcers down there."
„Means we're in the right place." Vi answered, like it was nothing. After that, she turned to Mylo. „You gonna get that door open any time soon?"
„Working on it." He groaned as he failed another time. „Seeing as I'm the only one who knows how to pick locks, I suggest-„
Vi had enough of this. (Y/N) looked at her with begging eyes the whole time Mylo was complaining. Giving the little girl a nod of approval, she decided to just watch the scene unfold.
(Y/N) only smiled at her, knowing Vi is giving her the permission. She took a deep breath and with a squeak, she kicked down the handle of the door, opening it. Vi knew, that even if (Y/N) was a little kid, she had incredible power in her legs. She gets to the side, letting others get inside first, wide smile still plastered on her face. Vi got in first ruffling her hair, then Claggor, who firstly hitted Mylos head weakly, doing the same gesture to the girl as Vi did. When Powder was walking towards the room, he took a hold of (Y/N) hand, only looking at the teenage boy. Mylo couldn't believe what just happened.
„Animals."
When all of them finally made it inside, their mouths were slightly open and eyes were wide. The room was filled with expensive stuff. One of those gadgets could probably get them food for like a week. Vi took a few steps and dropped her bag into the floor. She was the first one to touch something inside, which was a shelf full of books. The kids started to walk around, taking a look at everything in the room.
„You know, Claggor, for once you were right." Mylo said, coming up to a desk. „We are definitely not supposed to be here." Even though his words said otherwise, he started to search for valuable things on the desk.
Vi, looked at the board in front of her, being fascinated by it.
„Must be an inventor." She deducted. After that, all of them started to throw their steals into the bag, making sure to fit as much as possible.
Powder walked while looking at one of the shelf. He was going to walk away, since he didn't notice anything that could intresting, but then he suddenly stopped. Taking the item into his hand, he examined it with a smile.
„Whoa, I think this is a real valdiani..." He pressed a button on the top of the object, opening it. The music started and the mechanism moved in a beautiful way. (Y/N) came up to him and looked over his shoulder at the little music box.
„Oh, yeah? What about this?" Mylo asked from the other side of the room, turning on a weird gadget he found on the desk.
„Um, Mylo, but... that's a nose hair trimmer..." (Y/N) said as softly as she could, not wanting to make the boy feel bad. He only looked at her in embarrassment.
Vi came up to the younger kids, dropping some stuff into the bag.
„Keep an eye out for anything that looks valuable, Powder. Before Mylo fills the bag with junk." She said, seeing the teen use the trimmer on himself. Just when Powder closed the music box and went over to drop it, he heard a loud thund behind him. Looking over, he saw (Y/N) sitting on the floor, her breathing being a little too short to everyones liking. Vi was already at her side, while Mylo and Claggor just stopped in their tracks. Powder quickly ran over to his sister, kneeling down to his best friend.
„What happened? Are you okay?" He bombarded her with questions.
„Relax, lover boy, I'm sure she just needs a moment." Mylo said, slowly getting back into searching the desk. Powder rolled his eyes at him, not caring about the nickname he called him,.
„Do you need anything, (Y/N)? Is it like the other times?" Vi asked her, holding her hand. Seeing this, Powder did the same.
„No! No... I think I just got stressed, finally getting we're doing a break in... um..." the girl answered, squeezing the boys hand a little tighter. „I think I need some water though..." she added.
Vi opened her mouth to ask her brother about it, but he beat her to it.
„Water! Right! I'll be right back!" He got up quickly, leaving the room to look for something to drink. Vi only smiled at them.
„I promise you, for the money from it, we'll get anything that will be needed to help you out with this, okay?" She said, giving the younger girl a quick kiss on the forehead. (Y/n) smiled at her widely, chest still rising a little too fast. „Right now, just sit here and wait for him. And that's an order." She added, knowing the kid would protest.
Through this whole scene, Mylo was almost done looking over the desk, when he saw something weird under some papers. Setting them aside, he saw a blue orb, some kind of energy flowing around it.
„Uh, guys?" The older kids came closer to him, while (Y/N) tried to see what they were looking at. Seeing the crystal, Claggor finally noticed that he forgot to ask about something.
„Wait, Vi, how the hell did we find this place?" He asked the pink haired girl, while Mylo tried to touch the little orb. When his finger made contact with it, it got hit with harmless sparks, making him wince away.
„It was a tip from Little Man." She answered.
„Little Man?" Mylo made sure he heard right.
„Just leave it. Come on." She ended the conversation. Claggor not seeing any chances in asking anything more, got back to taking things.
„How can anyone have so much stuff?" He asked himself. Hearing him, Mylo decided to answer.
„Simple, just get born lucky."
Powder, not hearing anything they've said, walked over to the other room, looking for something that might help his friend. At the same time, he decided to look for more things to add to their bag of prizes. While taking some little, golden gadgets into his belt bags, he noticed a sandwich on a table, just like it was waiting for him.
„Woo-hoo!" He said, quickly coming to the desk and taking the snack into his hands, getting a bite. Powders face relaxed after eating something fresh. When he ate his finding, right next to the spot it was left, he saw a big box under a pile of blueprints. Setting them aside and leaving the sandwich, he tried to open it, hoping to find something useful. After a moment, he found a button, making the lid open up slowly. Inside were blue gems, just like the ones from the other room.
„Whoa..." was all that left his mouth. Getting one of those into his hand, he tried observe it, bringing it close to his eyes. The shine from it made his eyes lit up with blue.
INTRUDERS
Powder was taking his time in search for water, the other four was still searching over the main room. Mylo was throwing gadgets at Vi, who packed them all into their bag, while Claggor and (Y/N) were doing breath exercises, the older teen making sure she won't hyperventilate.
When Mylo threw a giant spher at Vi, she caught it, but right after that she stopped. Hearing something, or rather someone, on the other side of the door, she needed to think fast. Getting up, Vi quickly pointed at the door.
„Mylo...!" She whispered-shouted, immediately getting everyones attention. The called boy quickly grabbed a chair and blocked the door with it. Vi run over to the hallway, stopping in the middle of it.
„Powder, we gotta go...!" She said loud enough for her brother to hear. Powder gasped at the sudden change in his sisters mood, which made him take some crystal in a hurry.
„Hello? Is someone in there?" The voice on the other side of the door asked, making everyone panic even more.
While Powder was running out of the room, he accidentally dropped one of the crystals, making it roll somewhere into the room. What he didn't know was that this little blue orb may cause a very big problem for everyone involved with it.
Mylo, Claggor and (Y/N) were already on the balcony, waiting for Vi and Powder to come over. (YN) held Mylos hand in hers, being scared of the fact that they were almost caught. For Mylo it was more of a secure situation, where he could make sure they wouldn't lose her on the way back, in case they needed to hurry.
Vi got her brothers hand on the way, trying to to hurry him up.
„Come on...!" Mylo said, trying to drag both of them out of here. Vi lightly threw Powder over to him, hoping that will buy them some time.
(Y/N) tried to see how Powder was doing, but Claggor successfully blocked her view of the room, trying to calm her down.
„We'll be fine. Just get back on the roof." The pinknette said to them, quickly tying up their bag.
At the same time Vi got up, the crystal in the other room has hit the wall, making it explode. Before she made it out, the powerful impact had already came. The others on the balcony were thrown back. Vi run out of the apartment, making sure everyone was okay, but before she could ask, many blue sparks came out of the wall, making the floor of the balcony fall down. She tried to make them move away from it as much as possible.
„Hold on!" She yelled.
On the street below, some enforces who saw what was happening, tried to run away in a hurry, scared they might be crushed by the falling debris.
After everything was stable, Vi looked down from the edge of her footing, noticing the same enforcers already looking at her.
„Shit."
