"Alright, is everyone ready?" The Hero, his party and Edith along with his party were situated just outside the dungeon's entrance checking their equipment. All the extra items Edith decided to bring were a couple of minor healing potions in case anyone got hurt (which was unlikely)...whereas Julieaus's party carried three bags full of full-health potions, which told the three all they needed to know...
"Yes. Although..." Susan looked Edith straight in the eyes, "...I don't like the fact that Markov is our new party leader...he looks so suspicious. And what's with his level? He has to be a demon, right? And why is he so metallic?"
"God, don't you ever shut your face?" Edith spoke out, "My body is like this because I had all my limbs torn off by floor ninety-nine's boss. Does that answer your question?"
"I guess..." She reeled back, "...Sorry."
"So, are you really stronger than Julieaus?" Robert raised his hand to ask something else.
"Want me to kill you so you'd find out?"
"...No thanks..." He too, recoiled.
"Good." Then Edith turned to the entrance, "Let's get going. To floor one hundred now, right?"
"Yes...that was what Pope Ornild ordered." Julieaus spoke, "Don't even think about-GGH-" Edith stuck his sword in his mouth just when he was about to finish the sentence, already sick of his voice.
"I didn't ask for anything else but the floor number we stop at. Shut up."
"Alright...alright..."
They entered floor one soon after.
The floor wasn't massive like the ones from floor fifty and up. It was shaped almost identically to the floor Edith was pushed to his supposed death, along with weaker monsters like zombies, level one skeletons and slimes inside of lush plains which spanned as far as the eye could see. An artificial sun was at the ceiling which gave light to the entire area. The grass was crushed beneath their feet as they walked by. Edith allowed the Hero's party to take care of the monsters...and before they knew it, they were on floor two.
Floor two was about the same as floor one, with the monster level now being five to seven instead of only one to four. He noticed that all they were doing was killing the monsters by slicing them apart instead of going for their cores. He hated the fact that they weren't, because they were wasting precious monster cores. Though he didn't tell them because they worked for the church...and he wished for an easy fight against them when the time came.
Floor three to nine was no big deal. Everyone progressed almost admirably in his eyes. Kathlyn stayed close to Edith the entire time, chatting away like the best friends they were. The others soon became suspicious about their behaviour and wanted to inquire about it. Though they were too frightened of the boy to say anything.
Floor ten, they stopped for a break. They sat beneath the same cliff Edith remembered sitting under and chatting with Elzia and Kathlyn before he was betrayed and took out some rations. They were passed around, and some to Edith with his party, though they refused.
"We're not hungry."
"I am not mortal like you. Food is not necessary."
"No thank you, we've already eaten." Was what they said. The chosen ones shrugged it off and ate. Kathlyn sat directly in front of Edith with her back turned to his chest. She was tempted to lean onto him, though since she was the only one who knew of his identity, she resisted.
"This...this is where Julieaus betrayed you, isn't it?" She asked him in a whisper.
"Yeah..." He remembered it well. Wouldn't it be cool if he too, betrayed Julieaus here...? He wanted to...but decided against it. To him, it was better if they were at least on floor fifty...fifty two in particular stood out to him.
