When the men and women broke in, they decided it would be fun to torture the Dubois, torturing them before killing them one by one, except before they could kill the young Dubois, sirens rang making the pair flee leaving the traumatised young girl, pleading for her parents and older sister to wake up.
After than Lana grew up a quiet girl, keeping to herself, her goal was to become an fbi agent and profiler, wanting to put away criminals and help people so they don't end up traumatised like she was, but she can't always help them.
When Lana was 17 the partners who killed her family and torture her were found brutally murdered, she felt sick for feeling relief.
When she was twenty she joined the bau and for once she felt like she had family again, they became her family, especially Aaron hotchner, he became her father and she became his daughter.
When agent hotchner met Lana, he felt the need to protect her and he did, she was like his daughter who had a hard life what she didn't deserve, Lana Dubois deserved the world which Aaron would burn if that meant his daughter was safe.
