Y/N POV

"Do you have to make me go to this gathering?" I pouted at Nayeon as she cut the strawberries for her fruit tray. We were going to my girlfriend Momo's gathering with all the girls.

Nayeon sighed and looked at me,"You have to get out once and awhile! You know Momo doesn't like you staying in your room, right?"

"Of course I know that, she would never stop pestering me about it." I exclaimed, stealing a strawberry and popping it in my mouth," I can hear her scoldings from here."

"Uhuh, so you better get your ass up there and put on something nice!" She went back to cutting the strawberries when she stopped talking.

Getting off the stool I was sitting on, I made my way to the stairs. When I reached the second step, I paused before nervously asking,"Will.. Dahyun be there?"

I saw Nayeon pause. That gave me the answer but she continued to talk while she paused," Shes Momo's best friend, of course she's coming. I know you don't get along but.. can you at least try? You both love Momo to the great beyond. Just try not to anger her this time?"

I nodded and went upstairs. Oh, did I mention that Dahyun, Momo's best friend since childhood, hates my guts? Well it doesn't matter as Momo will always be part of my life. I even got her a present! A necklace matching my moon charm necklace with of course, a bouquet of purple tulips. I should tell her how excited I am. Pulling out my phone, I texted her.

I smiled at my present for her," She's gonna love this. Can't wait to give it to her."

Third POV

As the night grew closer, Nayeon and Y/n came to Momo's house where all the girls decorated the house. Y/n greeted Momo's parents who had a soft smile before greeting your friends.

"Hey girls! You did great with the decorations. Momo must love the hell out of it."

"Well we did make everything pink." Jihyo shrugged before nudging your shoulder with a smile. When you looked around, you saw Momo next to a table with all the snacks and flowers with her picture. She was watching everyone before her eyes landed on you. Momo smiles and waves in your direction mouthing a "hey, baby."

Before you could go over there and greet her, you were stopped by a voice.

"What are you doing here."

You turned around to meet Dahyun's cold glaring eyes. You sighed and held your head," Please Dahyun ah, Not tonight. I just want to hang out with everyone."

"I still don't like you." Dahyun blurted out while crossing her arms. You just groaned before raising your voice a bit,"I know that already! Can you just drop it already? You're going to ruin Momo's day."

Dahyun pursed her lips before uncrossing her arms. She had a hurt look in her eye before turning to walk away. Before she could, you grabbed her arm and gently turned her to you,"Look, I'm sorry for yelling. And I'm sorry for taking her from you. I.. I know how you felt about her. And I'm sorry she can't give you a chance nor reciprocate the love you have for her."

"I know that. And I accepted it will always be you when it comes to her." She bitterly agreed," I was late, and now I can never get a chance with her. But out of all the people.. how could she love you."

You felt a pang of hurt before she tugged her arm and went into the sea of people. You decided you had enough and went outside for some fresh air. There was a little spot in the back of Momo's house that you two would go to. It led to a little Wooded opening you two went on dates at.

Laying your body in the middle, you rested your legs. You still had your present to give Momo so you just decided to hive it to her later when you're collected.

"I knew you'd be here."

Momo smiled and looked at you laying down. She was in a crouch position right above your head. She proceeded to poke your nose,"Boop."

You couldn't help but let out a chuckle,"Your finger is cold." Momo took the spot next to you, holding her knees,"Of course I am, duh. What are you doing out here alone?"

"I'm cooling off. Dahyun is still hostile with me. I don't get why she can't move on." Y/n groaned out. You watched as she looked up into the stars,"She really cares for me, you can't really blame her. You gotta understand from her view, Honey."

You slowly sat up and looked with her," I want her to be friends with me like the girls. The girls understood our situation, i can't understand why she can't accept us being a thing."

"Give her time. She'll open up. Just don't give up on her."

"But she keeps pushing me away!"

"Y/n." Momo scolded," You're fuming up again. Breathe in and breathe out."

Following her advice, you tilted your head to the sky and did the breathing technique," I just don't.. understand she can't just can't leave me alone."

"Do you really want to know why?" You looked at momo with a grumble," of course I do!"

"It's because shes worried for you. You haven't accepted that I'm dead."

You clenched your fist as you heard her words," It's because you're not-"

"I am, Y/n. Look at your phone."

Y/n's lips pursed before looking at her phone. The text she made to her was a green bar. The number was inactive.

Momo smiled as she kept admiring the stars," The gathering for my anniversary is pretty. Jihyo and the girls remembered I love pink tulips and little snacks."

You couldn't stop looking at the phone in shock,"N-No.. I-It can't be true-"

"It is, my love."

When you looked back at Momo, she was smiling at you. With a quivered lip, you touched your nose," That's why you're so cold.."

Momo took your hand in hers before kissing it with her icy lips,"Face the reality, Y/n. You'll be just fine."

The words that Momo said calmed you down completely. Your eyes closed as you breathed in and out the air once more.

"And Y/n?" You just hummed, deep in your little mantra.

"I forgive you for crashing the car into the pole."

Your head snapped up to look at Momo but she was gone. The tears finally trickle down as you started to sob in your spot, your present right next to the spot she sat in under the starlight.
