"Says who?"
She smiles, like she was waiting for this question. "Creator," she says as in I'm supposed to immediately understand her. The creator? Is she talking about God? Oh no, have I met an injured survivor? Perhaps she's concussed or mentally deranged?"Who, Wanderer." My voice stern. "Tell me!" I shout. My frustration getting the best of me because she keeps making merry of this direful situation, distressfully so.
"The One Above." And I think of how helpful that statement wasn't. My frustration only mounting.
She walks closer to me, offering a hand. "I can lend a helping hand." Literally, I'm assuming. Strangely her voice wasn't comforting or supportive, it was persuasive and reassuring. Abruptly, my frustration erases.
I could've sworn I saw the air move, but I've seen too much today to keep a clear mind. I look down at the hand, thinking it over. She can help me. I don't know how, but I believe her. I've got a feeling she'll be warm in my life.With a smile, I accept the hand. She smiles too; strangely it looks outlandish. Sort of bizarre.
