The next day dawned bright and sunny, and Claudine woke up with a huge smile on her face. She couldn’t believe how much had changed overnight. Her birthday party had been a blast, but what made it even better was that she and Rico were now more than just friends. The thought of their kiss made her heart flutter.
After breakfast, Claudine excitedly called Rico. “Hey! Are you free today?” she asked, her voice full of enthusiasm.
“Of course! What’s up?” Rico replied, sounding just as excited.
“Can you come over? I want to talk to my parents about us!” Claudine said, her heart racing.
“Sure! I’ll be there in a bit,” Rico said. They hung up, and Claudine could hardly contain her excitement.
A little while later, Rico arrived at her house. Claudine met him at the door, and they exchanged bright smiles. “Thanks for coming!” she said, pulling him in for a quick hug.
“No problem! I’m happy to be here,” Rico said, grinning.
They both sat in the living room, and Claudine took a deep breath. “So, um, I wanted to tell my parents about us,” she said, her voice slightly shaky.
Rico nodded, his eyes shining with encouragement. “Let’s do it!”
Claudine called her parents, who soon joined them in the living room. “Mom, Dad, I have something to tell you,” she said, her heart pounding.
“What is it, sweetie?” her mom asked, looking curious.
Claudine glanced at Rico, who smiled reassuringly. “Rico and I… we’re more than just friends now.”
Her parents exchanged looks, and her dad said, “Really? That’s great!”
“Yes! We like each other a lot,” Claudine added, feeling a rush of relief.
Her mom smiled brightly. “As long as you both are happy, we’re happy!”
Claudine felt a wave of joy. “Thanks, Mom! Thanks, Dad!”
“And Rico, you’re always welcome here,” her dad said, shaking Rico’s hand.
“Thank you, sir,” Rico replied, his face beaming.
With the approval of both their parents, Claudine felt lighter. She and Rico shared a look, both knowing they could fully embrace their new relationship.
Later that day, Rico had a surprise for Claudine. “How about we go to Tagaytay?” he suggested, excitement in his voice.
“Really? That sounds amazing!” Claudine replied, practically bouncing in her seat.
They packed a small bag and headed out. The drive to Tagaytay was filled with laughter and playful banter. They sang along to the radio, and every so often, Rico would sneak a glance at Claudine, grinning when their eyes met.
When they arrived, the cool breeze greeted them, and the view was stunning. They walked hand in hand to a large tree that stood alone on a small hill. “This place is beautiful,” Claudine said, gazing at the scenery.
“It really is. Perfect for us,” Rico replied, sitting down under the tree. They settled on the grass, enjoying the moment together.
“I can’t believe how happy I am,” Claudine said, leaning against the tree. “Everything feels perfect right now.”
“Me too. I promise I’ll always choose you, no matter what happens,” Rico said, looking deeply into her eyes.
Claudine’s heart soared at his words. “I promise the same. We’ll always choose each other,” she replied, feeling a warmth spread through her.
