*"In the shadows, secrets whisper; the unknown can be more terrifying than the darkness itself."*
___________________________________________The morning sunlight streamed through the large windows, filling the Shekhawat mansion's living room with a warm glow. Avinash sat on the plush couch, his laptop perched on his lap, typing away furiously. His expression was focused, his sleeves rolled up, and a slight crease formed between his brows.
Anya entered the room, still tying her hair into a ponytail, as she glanced over at her brother.
"Working on world domination plans again?" she teased, raising an eyebrow as she approached.
Avinash looked up, a smirk creeping onto his lips. "Not this time. Just clearing my schedule so I can annoy you all day."
Anya laughed. "Wow, such dedication. I'm touched."
He closed the laptop with a satisfying click and leaned back, crossing his arms. "Someone has to keep you in check, Princess."
Anya snorted. "Right. Because I was clearly lost without your guidance."
Before Avinash could fire back, Nandini entered the room, carrying two mugs of coffee. She handed one to Avinash with a playful smile. "Looks like someone's been hard at work."
Avinash took the mug, grinning. "Yeah..but I am done now, all meetings cancelled and emails sorted."
Nandini rolled her eyes. "You sure you're not just pretending to work and seeing someone else in the act to do work? You can fool anyone with that serious face."
Avinash's grin widened, leaning forward slightly. "I am not interested in anyone else....no one had ever caught my eyes except my wife and right now, I am just focusing on her."
Nandini's cheeks turned a faint shade of pink, and she tried to hide her flustered state. "Focus all you want, but I am not as easily impressed as your business partners."
Avinash placed his coffee down and stood up, moving closer with a soft chuckle. "I wasn't aiming to impress anyone they just get impressed. And right now I am just trying to get some attention from my cute, sweet wife."
Nandini's blush deepened, and she shot back, "Flattery won't get you far with me, Mr. Shekhawat."
Avinash leaned in just a little more, his voice dropping to a teasing whisper. "Who said I was trying to go far? If I was trying you won't be here.....you will be in the bedroom on my lap...."
Nandini bit her lip, her blush spreading as she met his gaze, trying to act unaffected. "Ok, stop it here, you're too smooth for your own good."
Anya, watching the entire exchange, said dramatically. "Guys, stop it. Bhai atleast have a little shame your little sister is here."
Avinash turned to his sister with a mock sigh. "Not so little anymore. And who told you to watch your brother and bhabhi."
Anya shot back "So now it's me at a fault. For real!"
Avinash laughed and said "Of course you are," He paused and said mocking her "my little sister......"
Anya shot back, leaning against the arm of the couch. "Whatever.... Try hard to get her attention, Bhabhi will definitely choose me over you. And everyone knows I'm the real favorite around here. You're just the one who happens to pay the bills"
Avinash threw his head back with a laugh. "Touché."
Before she could dwell on it further, Vikram entered the room, commanding attention as always. "We will be leaving shortly, everyone should be ready."
