**Anya's Pov**

The morning sun streamed through the large windows of the Shekhawat mansion, its warm light illuminating the grand hall where my engagement was about to take place. The whole house was alive with chatter and laughter, yet my heart felt heavy, weighed down by the enormity of the moment.

I wanted to be happy it was supposed to be a big day for me but, I wasn't feeling any sort of joy, I don't know but I was not ready for this, but for sure this marriage thing did help me with that stalker shit, so here I am.

I stood in front of the mirror, near the centre of the room, my reflection framed by the soft glow of the vanity lights. I wore a stunning blush pink lehenga adorned with intricate embroidery and delicate sequin work that shimmered under the light. The lehenga's skirt flowed elegantly around me, each pleat meticulously designed with a regal touch. A matching sheer veil was draped over my head, falling gracefully around my shoulders, adding an ethereal charm to my look.

The choli, embellished with subtle beadwork, clung perfectly to my figure, while the high-waisted skirt flared out, giving me a princess-like aura. My jewelry—heavy yet tasteful—complemented the attire, with a choker necklace and matching earrings that sparkled against my neckline. It was beautiful, I couldn’t deny that, but I felt disconnected from the shimmering fabric draped around me. The delicate jewelry sparkled as I absentmindedly touched the necklace around my neck, my fingers trembling slightly. I felt the weight of the event pressing on me, but outwardly, i looked every bit the perfect bride-to-be.

This was it.
The moment I had dreaded for weeks. My engagement to Dev Malhotra.

My gaze flickered to Dev, standing confidently a few feet away. He looked...pleased, almost too smug. His sherwani was tailored perfectly to his frame, the image of a man who had everything under control. I envied his ease, his certainty. How could he stand there so calmly while my entire world seemed to be closing in around me?

Anika appeared beside me, her smile wide as she fussed with the edge of my lehanga. "To be honest we all friends are really angry from you, you literally hide that stalking and this marriage thing from us for this much long but of course we have forgived you. Btw you look amazing, Anya. Dev is lucky to have you."

I gave her a sweet smile, forcing myself to nod. "Thanks, Anika."

Suddenly out of literally no where Shraddha and Siya came running to me  their excitement carrying them away.

Shraddha looked at me and chipped with excitement in her voice "You look stunning, Anya."

Siya said in a dramatic tone "Wow!! What a beauty. 'He mere Shivji najar se bachana isko, aaj paheli baar jo ye itni sundar lag rahi hai, hehehe.'" I chuckled at her dramatic talks.
