The sun had barely risen over Puri when Gaurhari woke from his meditation. His mind was calm, but his heart carried a weighty decision. After seeing the unwavering devotion in his daughter Radhika, and the guidance from Lord Jagannath, he knew that the time had come to take an important step. He had decided to give Radhika *diksha*, the sacred initiation that would bind her closer to the path of spiritual discipline.

As the morning light streamed through the small windows of the hut, Gaurhari found his daughter in the courtyard, sitting beneath a tree with her eyes closed, deeply absorbed in her prayers. Her presence filled him with pride, and he knew that she was ready for the responsibility that came with the next stage of her spiritual journey.

He approached her quietly, his footsteps soft against the earth. "*Maa*," he called gently.

Radhika opened her eyes slowly, looking up at her father with a peaceful smile. "Yes, *Baba*?" she asked, her voice full of calmness and respect.

Gaurhari sat down beside her, his expression serious yet tender. "The time has come, *Maa*. I have prayed and meditated, and I believe it is Lord Jagannath's will that you take *diksha*-the initiation into this sacred path."

Radhika's heart skipped a beat, her eyes widening. She had longed for this moment, the time when she would fully commit herself to the spiritual life her father had taught her to revere. "*Baba,*" she whispered, "I am honored. I have been waiting for this."

Gaurhari placed a hand on her shoulder, his eyes filled with warmth. "It is not a step to be taken lightly. With *diksha* comes great responsibility. You will be bound to a life of devotion, discipline, and service to the Lord. Are you prepared to embrace this path fully?"

Radhika nodded with certainty, her heart filled with determination. "Yes, *Baba*. I am ready. I have always wanted to follow your teachings and serve Lord Jagannath with all my heart."

Gaurhari smiled, his heart swelling with pride. "Very well, *Maa*. We will perform the ceremony tomorrow at the temple, where you will be blessed in the presence of the Lord. It is a sacred and solemn occasion, and your journey as a devotee will truly begin."

Time skip

As the day passed, preparations were made for the sacred ceremony. Gaurhari informed his disciples, including his cousin Vishwambhar, and word spread quickly. The disciples, who called him *Guruji*, eagerly helped prepare for the ceremony, understanding the significance of Radhika's initiation. Sita Devi, too, played a vital role in preparing Radhika, guiding her through the rituals and making sure everything was perfect.

That evening, as the sky turned a brilliant shade of orange, Gaurhari gathered his disciples around a small fire in the courtyard. He spoke to them about the significance of *diksha*, reminding them of their own journeys and the responsibilities that came with their commitment to the path.

"Tomorrow, my daughter Radhika will be taking her first step into the life of a true devotee," Gaurhari announced, his voice calm but filled with authority. "It is a journey of sacrifice, discipline, and unwavering devotion to Radhamadhav. She will join us as an equal, a fellow servant of the Lord, and I trust that you will all guide and support her."

The disciples, including Vishwambhar, Sita Devi, and others like Sridham and Kush, nodded in agreement, their eyes filled with respect for their *Guruji* and admiration for Radhika.

That night, as the stars shone brightly in the sky, Radhika knelt before the small altar inside the hut, offering her prayers to Lord Jagannath. She felt a sense of peace, knowing that she was on the right path, and tomorrow would mark the beginning of a new chapter in her life.
