The air in what used to be called hell, nowadays called Abyss was thick. Shadows danced along the cold stone walls of the vast palace that Lee Know called home. Dark and majestic, the halls seemed endless, filled with the quiet echo of Hyunjin's hurried footsteps as he made his way to Lee Know's private chambers. His mind raced, anger simmering beneath his calm exterior.
Without knocking, Hyunjin rushed into the room, the space dimly lit by flickering flames. Lee Know was lounging on a black velvet couch, an amused smile playing on his lips as he looked up from a book he'd been casually flipping through.
"Hyunjin," Lee Know drawled, his voice lazy and unbothered. "You're early. What's the rush?"
Hyunjin's eyes blazed with frustration as he stormed toward him. "I don't know, you tell me, Minho." He said, his voice low, little amused, but sharp. "You kissed Jisung, didn't you? You think I wouldn't notice that you sneaked to Felix's apartment, while I was laying not so far away from your dirty actions. If someone had woken up, if someone had seen you..."
Lee Know didn't move from his relaxed position, only arching an eyebrow at Hyunjin's outburst. "Damn it. Calm down." He said, his voice smooth and dismissive. "No one saw me. I had everything under control."
Hyunjin clenched his fist, struggling to keep his voice low. "You don't get it, Minho. These games you're playing with Jisung... they're fucking dangerous. If you slip up, it's not just you who'll face the consequences. If Chan founds out you've been crossing boundaries like this, he won't let it slide. You're playing with the human's life."
Lee Know's smirk didn't falter. "Relax, Hyunjin. Chan won't find out because there's nothing to find out. I'm careful, and mainly, Chan is one of our closest friends, he would be just fine if he found out." He stood up slowly, sauntering over to Hyunjin. "Besides, Jisung is... interesting. I'm just having a little fun.
He's intriguing, don't you think?"Hyunjin's eyes narrowed, his jaw tight. "You call kissing him in his dreams 'fun'? You're pushing him too far, too fast. And showing up at Felix's apartment, just to do the shit you did, is reckless even for you. If any of them had seen you..."
Lee Know stepped closer, his red eyes glinting mischievously in the dim light. "But they didn't, did they?" His voice dropped to a whisper, the amusement never leaving his tone. "You worry too much, Hyunjin. You act just like him." He glanced at Hyunjin with smirk on his face. "Is that Felix's effect on you? When I've done this with different people you were always okay with it."
Hyunjin let out a frustrated breath, running a hand through his hair. "Leave Felix out. Just be careful, Minho. I'm serious. If this blows up, Chan will never let you into the human's world again, and I don't want to be dragged into your mess. He's in charge of us, whatever we do, goes on him. Even when we are the princes, there are still demons above us."
Lee Know finally dropped the smirk, his expression softening— just a little. "I know what I'm doing, Hyunjin. I won't get caught." He placed a hand on Hyunjin's shoulder, giving him a reassuring pat. "Trust me."
Hyunjin glared at him for a moment longer, his frustration still evident, but he eventually let out a resigned sigh. "Fine. But don't say I didn't warn you."
As Hyunjin stepped back preparing to leave, he paused and shot Lee Know small playful smile. "This thing with Jisung... it's not going to be as simple as you think."
Lee Know's eyes darkened slightly, but the smile returned to his lips. "I never said it would be simple. But that's what makes it fun."
With that Hyunjin vanished, leaving Lee Know alone in the room. The demon prince stared into the flickering flames, his mind already drifting back to Jisung and the game he was playing. A dangerous game, perhaps— but one he fully intended to win.
