Jisung and Minho entered the kitchen, the smell of breakfast wafting through the air as Felix and Hyunjin were already moving around, setting up plates. The atmosphere felt lighter, but there was still something lingering between him and Minho. Jisung could feel it in the way Minho stood a little too close, his presence impossible to ignore, even when Jisung pretended to focus on the task at hand.
"Good morning, you two," Felix greeted them, smiling in a way that made Jisung feel a bit more at ease.
"Morning," Minho responded, his voice casual, but Jisung could sense the playfulness beneath it.
As they sat down at the table, Hyunjin leaned back in his chair, eyeing Minho for a second before turning to Felix. "You're good with that thing we talked about?" Hyunjin asked quietly, though Jisung caught the look that passed between them. Felix nodded, a small smile on his face.
The meal began with casual conversation, but Jisung couldn't help but glance over at Minho from time to time. He hated how natural it felt to share this space with him. Minho, the demon, who teased him relentlessly, who seemed to have power over his dreams and emotions. But Minho wasn't being overbearing now; instead, he seemed calm, almost like he belonged here. Jisung didn't like how that made him feel.
Minho caught his gaze and smiled, a slow, knowing smile that made Jisung's pulse quicken. He quickly turned away, focusing on his plate as if that would drown out the odd warmth spreading through him.
"Hey, Felix, are you free later today?" Jisung asked, trying to divert his attention.
Felix raised an eyebrow, glancing quickly at Hyunjin before responding. "Uh, yeah, why?"
Jisung shrugged. "I thought maybe we could hang out, go on lunch."
"Sounds good, but why not invite everyone?" Felix said, looking between Jisung and the others.
Jisung hesitated for a second, feeling Minho's eyes on him. "Yeah, why not," he muttered, though he didn't sound too convinced. More time with Minho wasn't exactly something he was eager for.
Later that day, they all found themselves sitting in the living room, the movie they had chosen playing in the background. But Jisung wasn't paying attention. Instead, his mind kept drifting back to Minho, to the conversations they had in the dream, to the way Minho had teased him. How could Minho affect him so much without even trying? Jisung hated how Minho made him feel like he was constantly on the edge, like he was battling some invisible force that kept pulling him closer.
A scene in the movie made everyone laugh, and Jisung realized he had zoned out again. Felix and Hyunjin were whispering to each other, clearly growing more comfortable in each other's presence. That left Jisung and Minho, who sat next to him, closer than he had intended.
Minho's hand brushed against Jisung's as he shifted in his seat, sending a shiver up his arm. Jisung glanced at him, and their eyes met. For a second, Jisung's heart stopped. The intensity in Minho's gaze was enough to make him feel like he was on fire, much like the feeling in his dreams—the same overwhelming heat, the same pull.
Minho leaned in, just a fraction, his voice low. "You keep staring. Is something on your mind?"
Jisung's breath hitched. "I'm not staring," he replied, though his voice came out weaker than he intended.
"Could've fooled me," Minho smirked, his gaze dipping for a second before returning to Jisung's eyes. The way Minho was looking at him made it hard to breathe, as if he was searching for something beneath the surface, something Jisung wasn't ready to reveal.
Jisung swallowed, breaking the eye contact. "Why do you keep doing this?"
"Doing what?" Minho's voice was soft, but there was a challenge in it.
