As the bell rang, signaling the start of music class, Anny was excited. It was one of the few moments when both sections combined, and she would finally get to see Vansh. She entered the music room with her friends—Rudra, Tani, Himansh, Sakshi, and Tanish—who were all chattering about the day.
Vansh was already seated with his section on the other side of the room. He looked up and caught Anny’s eye, flashing her a quick smile. She waved back, settling down next to Rudra and Himansh.
SP Sir, their music teacher, walked in, his harmonium in hand. "Good afternoon, everyone! Today we’ll start with some sargams to warm up our voices. Let’s get those scales right."
Groans rippled through the room, but Anny loved this part. As SP Sir played the harmonium, the class began their warm-up: Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni, Sa. Vansh glanced over at her from across the room, raising an eyebrow as he hit the higher notes, making Anny giggle. Meanwhile, Rudra and Himansh were trying to outdo each other, singing louder and making Tani and Sakshi laugh.
After a few rounds of sargams, SP Sir put his harmonium aside and looked at the class. "Now, for some exciting news! In two weeks, the school will be hosting a small music competition. You'll be performing in pairs, so start thinking about your partners and what song you’d like to sing."
Anny’s heart skipped a beat. She immediately glanced at Vansh, who was already looking her way. He mouthed, "Partners?" and she nodded eagerly.
Her friends were equally excited. Rudra nudged Himansh, "You and me, yeah?"
"Obviously!" Himansh grinned.
Tanish and Sakshi were whispering, trying to come up with song ideas, while Tani bounced excitedly in her seat. "This is going to be so much fun!"
SP Sir clapped his hands to get everyone’s attention again. "You can come to me anytime for help with your songs. Start practicing, and remember, the competition is only two weeks away!"
Anny couldn’t wait to start practicing with Vansh. It was going to be an exciting two weeks, filled with music, practice sessions, and spending time with all her friends.
As soon as SP Sir clapped his hands and instructed the students to sit with their partners, the room filled with the sound of shuffling feet and excited whispers. Anny quickly made her way over to Vansh, who was already smiling as he scooted over to make room for her.
"Looks like we’re officially partners," Vansh said, playfully nudging her shoulder.
Anny smiled, her heart fluttering a little, though she wasn’t quite sure why. "I’m glad," she replied, settling down next to him.
SP Sir walked around the room, reminding everyone, "Remember, you’ll need to choose a song that showcases both of your strengths. Make sure you feel connected to the music. It’s not just about hitting the right notes—it’s about the emotion you put into it."
As Anny and Vansh were discussing their song choice, their friends couldn’t help but notice the way they were sitting closely, completely focused on each other. Rudra, never one to miss an opportunity to tease, leaned over to Himansh and smirked. "Unhe dekh zra...saath to ese bethe h jese sahi ke couples ho"
Himansh :- chalo inke mze lete h
Tani :- oh come on itna kya soch rhe ho tum dono ..Tum hi ho gaa lo na...vese bhi vo tumhara hi to song h😜
Anny blushed, her face turning a soft shade of pink as she nudged Tani playfully. "Stop it, we’re just trying to choose a song," she said, trying to sound serious but unable to hide her smile.
Vansh, who was usually quick with a witty comeback, found himself unusually quiet.
But before he could dwell on it, Sakshi spoke up, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Oh! How about Raabta....vo bhot pyara gana h vo gaa lo tum log."
