8 = The Start 🏁🍼

KATIE'S POV:

I drove since I wanted to not focus on the appointment because of my nerves. When we left the training ground everyone did try to question us, because we were leaving early, but seeing Caitlin pull out gave them some answers of their own. I hold Cait's hand, "I am so excited, what about you?" I say trying to pull her out of her trance, "Yeah I am. I don't know why I am so nervous." I giggle, "It okay to be nervous though." Caitlin nods and we drive the rest of the way in silence.

We finally get to the hospital right on time I go and check us in and do the paperwork, while Caitlin sits down, the woman tells me, "We are running a bit behind." I smile and turn to walk back to Caitlin. The delay wasn't massively bad only 20 minutes. Caitlin still doesn't speak much her knee bouncing was permanent. The lady calls our names, "McCabe, Foord." I looked to Caitlin, "Come on then babe." We hold hands and follow the doctor to the room. We follow the doctor to her room we sit in the side chairs since this was more of a consultation. I keep a hold of Caitlins hand the whole time. "So Ms. Foord and Ms. McCabe. What do we to know?" I look to Caitlin and she indicates that she wants me to talk, "We want to start the process of having a baby together." The doctor seems very happy with this. "Okay. Love that. Who wants to carry." I soon say, "Me. But with Caitlins eggs." "Lovely you sound like you have it all under control." The doctor then asks us questions about are medical history, Caitlin did have to bring up about her eating disorder, which was hard on her.

"Okay that is all the questions needed. Should we start the examinations then." I nod excitedly, "So Katie hop on up I just need to check your cervix and uterus making sure there isn't any scarring and are able to have a viable pregnancy." I immediately do so, not slowing down for anything. I am then asked many questions about my lifestyle. Caitlin stood at my head during the ultrasound just watching and imagining that in a couple months there would be a baby on that screen. "You are all good. Right Caitlin it's a bit more work for you, I need to do a pap smears and blood tests." She hands me a wipe to wipe off my stomach, "I am just going to get my equipment, Caitlin if you could take you bottoms off and then place this sheet over your lap." She walks out and I go over to Caitlin, "You okay babe?" She keeps her head laid low, "Yeah, just wasn't expecting this, I had a very bad experience with my first ever pap smear so I just, yeah." I rub my hands up and down her arms and when I reach her face I turn her eyes up to mine, "Hey its okay, remember why we are doing all this. I will be by your side the whole time" she nods and I remember to ask her about this another day, "See not too scary." She agrees, I kiss her on the forehead. "Right, we ready." The doctor walks in, we nod and I stand by Caitlins head holding her hand during the whole process.

We soon leave and Caitlin is handed a bag of needles she has to do everyday for 2 weeks, I was taught how to do them as well as Caitlin. We get in the car and drive home it was now 6:30 the appointment lasting nearly 2 hours. Me and Cait were both wanted to go home first and freshen up before meeting Jordan. We don't need to do the first injection until tomorrow since the doctor did the first one today in the office. She did say that Caitlin might have period-like symptoms due to the extra hormones, which will be a surprise to Caitlin emotions since she her period doesn't really get in the way. While she is sorting her hair out, I sneak up behind her, "Caitlin baby, I am sure we could cancel with Jordie you look exhausted." She leans into my arms wrapped around her torso, "No we need to see her." I do agree that we need to catch up with Jordan but I can see on Caitlins face how emotionally tired she is, "Okay then but we will leave a bit earlier just to get a bit extra sleep in before the game tomorrow." She just nods into my neck. "Caitlin I was thinking, I think we should tell someone about us starting to build a family." This sends alarm bells, "Why, who?" "I don't know maybe like Beth and Viv and maybe Jordie tonight just because some people need to know the reason why, especially if one of us are ill or something." Caitlin knows what I mean, "Yeah. Maybe just Jordie tonight." I agree with her thinking all in one go might be very overwhelming and we both know Caitlin struggles in them sorts of situations.
