' Did you do something to my son before you were arrested? Did you do something to him, WHISTLER?! '
Bill said angrily as he held onto the phone tighter, Chip yawning as he seemed bored and annoyed. Bill had took his family to the prison to try and question Chip, just in case if he had done something to Cricket before getting arrested. They didn't want Cricket to be hurt or anything, so they needed answers.
' What? You're mad since you lost your little farm boy? I didn't do anything to that stupid kid but maybe he's hiding from you because even he knows that you can't protect him! '
Bill's eye twitched as Chip replied back disrespectfully, he was pissed off. Nancy then took the phone afterwards, putting her hand on his shoulder as she tried to calm him down. He didn't want Bill to be too mad and just snap.
' Let me speak to him.. '
She whispered to Bill before turning towards Chip, putting the phone to her ear.
' Why'd you do it, Chip? You nearly destroyed our lives, and for what? A grudge? '
Nancy said as she gritted her teeth a little, getting a little pissed off herself. Chip rolled his eyes, snickering afterwards as he put his hand on his cheek.
' Oh boo-hoo! Life's tough in Big City, Nancy. You guys were just a small bump in the road. You can't handle the truth, maybe you shouldn't have picked a fight with good ol' Whistler. '
Chip replied back mockingly, looking away from them afterwards as a mischievous smirk appeared on his face.
' But hey, at least I'm famous now, right? '
Chip sneered, Nancy looking shocked. Tilly then took the phone from Nancy, catching her off-guard.
' Wha- Tilly! '
' Cricket's real hurt because of what you did. Doesn't that bother you at all? '
Tilly said to Chip as she teared up a little, Chip chuckling under his breath. Tilly looked so pathetic to him.
' Aww, poor little Cricky! Should I send him a 'Get Well Soon' card? I don't care if that little twerp's hurt, he was always a pest. Maybe now he'll learn to stay in his lane. '
Bill then took the phone from a now crying Tilly, yelling angrily as he held onto the phone even tighter than before.
' This isn't some damn game, Chip! You put Crickets life in DANGER! '
Bill yelled angrily as he slammed his fist on the desk, Chip was unfazed by this. Chip then rolled his eyes, his smirk still on his face.
' Life's a game, Green. You either win or you lose. And guess what? You lost. If your kid couldn't handle that, well... that's not my problem, is it? I did him a favor by toughening him up. You should thank me. '
That was the final straw for Bill. He then slammed the phone onto the desk before suddenly punching the glass that separated them from the criminal. Chip's eyes widened, he was surprised by Bill's boldness.
' Woah! Seems I really pissed you off, huh? '
He snickered as Bill continued to punch the glass, punching it one more time before the glass finally cracked. Chip was shocked, this dude was really mad. Bill's knuckles started to bleed, small shards of glass going into his knuckles as he continued to punch as hard as he could. Nancy tried to get Bill to stop, Alice pulling Tilly away as she covered her eyes so she couldn't see what was going on. Two of the guards came over as they tried to pull Bill away along with Nancy, but Bill didn't stop.
' That is enough, Bill! '
Nancy said as she finally pulled Bill away from the glass, Chip's mouth agape in shock as Bill stared at him, menacingly.
' I KNOW YOU DID SOMETHING TO MY BOY, CHIP! I KNOW YOU DID!! '
Chip then rolled his eyes, of course he thought HE was the one who did something to his kid. The guards then took Bill away, Nancy, Alice, and Tilly left in the room as Chip was taken away back to his cell afterwards.AN HOUR LATER.
Bill sighed, sitting on his bed as he wrapped some bandages around his sore knuckles. He felt embarrassed for what he had done, and guilty. He thought he had failed as a father since he wasn't able to protect his own child. Tilly then walked into the room, bringing along Saxon as she looked at how sad her father was.
' Papa? '
Tilly said as she approached her father, standing in front of him.
' Are you okay? You've been in your room for a little bit now.. '
Tilly asked as she held Saxon tightly. Bill sighed, giving Tilly a slight smile.
' Y-yes Tilly..I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me, alright? '
Tilly then gave her father smile, giving him a small nod.
' Okay papa, I'll go now! '
Tilly said as she walked out of the room, Bill feeling even more guilty since he had just lied to his own daughter.
' Yea..yea..go play.. '
Bill quietly muttered, looking away from Tilly as he looked back to his bandage wrapped knuckles. Tilly walked into her and her brothers shared bedroom, looking at where Cricket used to sleep and where he used to play. The sadness was overwhelming. Tilly sighed, going over to her bed until she stopped. She looked down to the ground, stepping on it as she heard the sound. It didn't sound like the usual wood creaking, but it sounded like..metal? Strange..
' Huh? '
Tilly then walked over to her bed, putting Saxon on it as she pat his head.
' Wait right here, Saxon! I need to check something. '
She then went back to the metal sounding floor, stepping on it again and again. Tilly then crouched down, touching the metal ground curiously. She then slipped her fingers into the cracks between the metal, using all of her strength to see if she could remove the metal.
' A-agh! '
Tilly struggled a few times before finally removing the metal, sighing in relief as she wiped sweat off of her forehead. She put the metal next to her before checking what was hidden under it. She let out a small gasp, covering her mouth with one of her hands as she pulled out a paper out of the hole. It was a drawing, a drawing made by Cricket.
' O-oh..my.. '
It was a drawing of Cricket sitting on the ground, seeming stressed out and panicked. The words " i cant take it anymore " scribbled all over the drawing. Tilly put the drawing down, looking at some other drawings that Cricket had scribbled.
' What..this is?'
Tilly was terrified.
' Cricket would never draw something like..this. '
Tilly was right, Cricket was not the type to draw something so...disturbing." whats wrong with me? " was scribbled all over one, " why didnt they stop it? " scribbled all over another. Tilly then took the drawings, putting the metal back onto the floor as she walked back to her bed. Tilly then lifted her mattress a little, looking around the room before putting the drawings under the mattress. She then put the mattress down, looking at Saxon with slight nervousness.
' Don't tell anyone! '
Tilly said to Saxon before picking him up, walking out of the room as she took him along with her. Tilly then walked into the living room, seeing Nancy and Alice talking to each other. Tilly sighed to herself before sitting on the couch, looking at Saxon, who was in her hands. She felt conflicted, she knew she had to tell her family about the drawings but she was scared. 'Am I making things worse by keeping this a secret?' Tilly thought to herself, the thought going echoing through her mind, unanswered.- End of Chapter 3| Chapter 4, "Secrets" , coming out soon -
