Walking out of his last class of the day on his way to the weight room, Green Light by Rod Wave could be heard playing from Dakari's AirPod max. Suddenly his music paused signaling that he was receiving a call from someone
He smacked his lips pulling his phone from is sweatpants pocket showing it was his friend Corey calling him
"Yoo"
"Yoo. Whatchu want nigga you paused my music."
"I'm just tryna see what you on. I'm tryna have a lil chill night later on and play some games and shit with Halaya li fine ass and her friends. You gone slide through?"
"Yeah I guess I'll come after I hit the weight room. Imma see if Chanel wanna slide with me."
Corey smacked his lips at the name Chanel. He didn't like her because she was always on some sneaky shit and a liar. She also doesn't treat Dakari as much of a boyfriend than he did a girlfriend.
Dakari was too in love to really realize it though.
Dakari and Chanel met during their senior year of high school. To say they were toxic was an understatement but you couldn't tell them that. Chanel at one point wanted to go to Texas A&M but because she followed him around like a lost puppy, she changed her mind and wanted to go to FAMU with him. It wasn't a surprise she got in because she was book smart, she was just dumb outside of school. Surprisingly they got through their freshman year without troubles but as she is becoming friends with some of these girls on campus, things in their relationship are starting to get rocky this year.
"Mmcht. Alr bro I'll see you later. Oh yea imma hit up Cel too."
"Aight."
He heard the phone hang up and his music started playing as he made his way inside the weight room.
Surprising him, he seen someone working out also. Usually when he comes in the middle of the day it is completely empty but not this day.
He seen the girl doing dumbbell lunges. She was really pretty to him but he had to shake those thoughts remembering he has a girlfriend already.
He turned to his workout playlist, Real Spill by Lil baby being the first song played. He threw his phone on the ground getting ready to do his full body workout for the day.

Finishing her last workout of the day, she looked up seeing someone in the weight room. Her headphones were playing loud music and she was really focused on her exercise so it wasn't like she noticed him in there.
His back was turned but she could tell he was attractive by his build and the few tats she seen on his arms. She had to catch herself staring but seeing his biceps flex while doing dumbbell curls really had her in a trance.
