As the soft hum of the law firm faded behind her, Irene made her way down to the parking lot, her heart fluttering with a mix of excitement and nerves. Backy's teasing lingered in her mind, but it was all in good fun. Irene couldn't help but smile, feeling the warmth of their friendship as she stepped out into the cool evening air.

Noey was waiting by her car, leaning casually against the door with a confident smile that instantly eased Irene's nerves. There was something about Noey's calm demeanor that made her feel comfortable.

Noey: [playfully] "You kept me waiting. I was starting to think you were standing me up."

Irene laughed, walking over to her.

Irene: [teasingly] "I would never. Backy just kept me tied up with work as usual."

Noey opened the car door for Irene, and after exchanging playful smiles, they set off for their dinner date. Conversation flowed effortlessly—much like it had the night they first met. Irene found herself captivated by Noey's stories, her wit, and the way she could make even the simplest topics intriguing.

At dinner, the atmosphere between them felt light and easy. The restaurant was intimate and candlelit, adding a warm glow to the evening. They shared stories and laughter, and much to Irene's surprise, Noey revealed a depth that intrigued her even more.

Noey: [gently] "I was a little nervous tonight. It's not every day I get to spend time with someone who's got both beauty and brains."

Irene blushed slightly, her heart racing faster at Noey's sincerity.

Irene: [smiling] "Well, you're not so bad yourself. I'm glad I didn't let Backy's teasing scare me off."

They both laughed, and as the night went on, a real connection began to grow between them—something more than just a casual dinner. When the check arrived, Noey insisted on paying.

Noey: [grinning] "Next time, you can pick the place."

Irene: [teasing] "Next time, huh? Bold of you to assume I'll say yes."

Noey chuckled, her eyes twinkling.

Noey: "I'm willing to take that risk."

After dinner, they shared a quiet walk back to the car, the cool night air wrapping around them as they spoke in hushed tones. When Noey dropped Irene off at her office, there was a brief moment of hesitation before Noey spoke.

Noey: [softly] "I had a really good time tonight. Can I see you again?"

Irene smiled warmly.

Irene: [nodding] "I'd like that."

Before parting ways, Noey added with a playful grin.

Noey: "I'll pick you up at 6 next time. Seems to be our thing."

Irene laughed, waving goodbye as she headed back into the office to gather her things. Her heart felt lighter than it had in a long time.

Meanwhile, Backy had returned home after a long day at the office. She stepped into the Armstrong mansion, greeted by the familiar scent of dinner. Her family was already seated at the table, and she slipped into her seat, joining in the warm conversation that filled the room.

Dinner was peaceful, filled with light-hearted teasing from Richie and knowing glances from her mother, who always seemed to sense when something was on Backy's mind. But Backy kept her thoughts to herself for now, enjoying the comfort of her family.
