Toby Rogers X Reader
"I Wanna Be Yours."
I finally gathered enough courage to start my car, and drive all the way to Julia's apartment, and now I stood, wide eyed, at the apartment that I had so many memories in. The first place I met Toby.
How in the world did I end up here? Why did the world think to bring me back here?
Before I could even knock, the door was swinging wide open, with Julia's peppy face right behind it. "You made it!" She squealed, and pulled me in a tight hug. I awkwardly patted her back. "Yup! Wouldn't miss it for the world." I said, knowing there was only one reason I came. She pulled away from me, and looked down at my box. "Ooo, and you brought treats! I can't wait."
She grabbed my arm and tugged me inside. Immediately I was hit with the familiar smell of my old apartment. I looked around, everything was set up the same. It looked identical to my old home. "I love the way you set this place up." She looked over to me, her iconic smile still on her face. "Oh, I didn't do this, it was all Micheal." Right, Micheal. That was his name now. "It's actually so funny, he insisted on decorating the place, he said he had a vision." She giggled, as I nodded, questions running through my head.
"Anyways, come sit down, Micheal's just finishing up the dishes." I looked back, and Toby was in fact scrubbing dishes clean. I turned back, a little distraught. Would Toby do that for me? I placed my treats down in the circle of food, while Julia disappeared into the kitchen with Toby. I kept my head down, and tried not to listen to her giggle, as she wrapped her arms around his waist.
After a few horrid moments, both Toby and Julia came to sit down with me. I watched as Toby pulled a chair out for Julia, and she sat down. "We have so many stories to tell you." Julia started loading her plate, and I followed after her.
Mashed potatoes, steak, mac and cheese, they had it all. As I was loading potatoes onto my plate, I heard a squirt sound. My head immediately gravitated towards the sound, which was now, a bunch of ketchup, all over Julia's white blouse, and face. She looked shocked, but quickly laughed. "I can't take myself anywhere. I'll be right back guys, get to know each other a little." Without another word she was up, and running into my old bedroom. The bedroom where I shot someone, the bedroom where I had a knife carved into my leg, the bedroom where I kept someone locked up in my closet for who knows how long.
Toby looked just as uncomfortable as me. "Sooo, Micheal, how'd you and Julia meet?" His head peaked up, and a small smile came over his face.
"She hit me with her car." He said plainly. My head shot over to him, and I gave him a questioning look.
Finally he laughed. God, I had missed his laugh.
"I don't really remember what happened, but Julia said I came running from the woods out of nowhere, and no matter how hard she stomped on the break she just couldn't stop. She took me to the hospital and I couldn't remember anything, so she took me home as a collateral, and the rest is history."
That explains so much. No wonder he didn't remember me. Relife rushed through me, it was like flipping onto a new page of a book. Maybe just maybe I could get my Toby back.
"That's quite the story." I hummed as I picked up a forkful of mashed potatoes. He nodded his head. "What about you?" He asked. "Are you seeing anyone?" The thought of being with anyone other than Toby made me feel physically ill. "No. No. I haven't seen anyone for a few years." I quickly spat out, before I could gag on my words. "Rough ending?" He asked, his eyes made butterflies flood my stomach. "Yeah, I guess you could say that."
