"Love Is Embarrassing"

At 5:30 in the morning I woke up to pounding on my door. I sluggishly got up, and wobbled out of my room. Bee on the other hand darted out of her room, holding her stomach, and a baseball bat.

"What's going on?"

She questioned, her hands already shaking. Half asleep I shrugged. "I'll go check it out. It'll be okay." She looked at me like I was crazy, but nodded her head. "Okay, but take this." She said as she shoved the baseball bat into my hands, then ran off again towards Ivan's room.

I slowly shuffled to the front door, rubbing the sleepiness from my eyes. I stood on my tippy toes, and- oh my god. My feet slammed back on the ground, and the baseball bar thudded onto the ground.

This really couldn't be happening. I mean it could. But when you get lost in a fire, you don't normally make it out. Right?

I checked the peep hole again. Yup. I really was her. I stared at the door. There was no way this could be a good thing. But, nonetheless I calmed myself down, collected all my thoughts, and opened the door.

"Lacy."

I mumbled, half angrily, half shocked or confused. "Y/N." She said back, crossing her arms over her chest like a highschool mean girl. It was only then I realized the bruises on her face, and the scratches on her arms. Then my eyes trailed down to her hands, more specifically what was in them. A small, beat up, suitcase.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, trying to keep my ground. She shrugged and made her way inside, shoving past me. "I figured since you ruined my life, you might apologize by letting me stay here for a little while."

I scoffed, turning around to face her. She was already setting her stuff down. "I didn't ruin your life." She glared at me. "You stuffed me in your closet for weeks." She deadpanned. I kept my mouth shut in a straight line.

"You can't stay here." I said after a few awkward seconds of silence. "We don't have enough rooms." My crappy excuse didn't fool Lacy, she looked at me like I was stupid. "I can sleep on the couch."

Before I could respond Bee stormed in, clearly tired and clearly upset. "What's going on?" She said less like a question and more like a demand. "And who are you?" She said quickly after, with disgust. Lacy raised a brow. "You didn't tell her?" Lacy smirked as she watched the color drain from my face, and as Bee quickly changed where her anger was directed.

"Tell me what?" Bee crossed her arms over her chest, sternly. "It's nothing." I replied. She looked at me in disbelief. Her mouth hung a little open, and you could see the hurt in her eyes. "You're really not going to tell me?" She mumbled, bitterly. I sighed, and shot a quick glare at Lacy. She smiled and waved. "It's a long story." She sat down on the couch, and got comfortable. "Good thing we have time."

My eyebrows furrowed and my mouth fell into a deep frown. I didn't want to tell Bee about what happened three years ago, I didn't want to tell anyone about what happened three years ago. But her stare persisted, and I quickly gave in.

I sat on the couch, and buried my hands in my hair. "I'm gonna go get something to eat." Lacy said, as she walked off and disappeared into my kitchen. I groaned, and caved into myself. "Don't get mad."

For the next hour and a half, I sat on my couch and told Bee everything. I ignored the looks, and gasped. At one point Bee even scooted away from me, like I was dangerous, but I couldn't just stop now. I was like a volcano, words just kept flowing out of my mouth.

Finally I stopped to take a breath. "Is that why you've been acting so weird?" Bee asked after a few minutes of silence. I looked up at her confused. "What?" I said, furrowing my eyebrows, and leaning in like I was watching a soap opera. "Ivan told me about what happened at the store." She grabbed my shoulder and held it firmly. "He said you saw a guy there, was it Toby?"

I felt my eyes widen, as I backed away from Bee, letting her hand fall off my shoulder. She looked at me like she could read me, her eyes flicked back and forth.

"Yeah, It was him." I reluctantly admitted. Bee closed her eyes and rubbed her forehead. "Why wouldn't you tell me about this?" I opened my mouth to speak, but she quickly shushed me. "Don't answer that question."

Bee sighed again, and stared at me down. "Do you still love him?" She asked, seriously. Yes. I answered in my head immediately. Of course I love him. But the look on her face told me what I needed to say. "No. Of course not. It's been three years, he's practically a stranger to me." I grumbled out, even though it felt like I was puking up razor blades.

Bee smiled relife. It looked like a hundred boulders were lifted off of her shoulders. Her smile only grew as she grabbed my shoulder and shook it. "That's good to know." She giggled and took a deep breath.

It was almost scary how fast she changed. I laughed with her, even though I really wanted to ask her why she was acting so weird.

She stood and patted my shoulder. "I'm really glad we had this talk. Please don't feel like you ever have to hide stuff from me. I'm here for you." I mindlessly nodded with her words, as she continued more and more reassuring words. "I'm gonna go make us some breakfast." She walked away with a wink, leaving me dumbfounded.

Lucy came out of nowhere, and plopped herself down on my couch. "What was that all about?" I looked at Lucy, with my face all scrunched up. "I don't know." I said harshly. She shrugged. "So can I stay?" I looked at her and rolled my eyes, groaning.

"Yes. You can stay."
