Soul Linkage CHAPTER 10 [Back at The Beginning]

Jayden wakes up in the room they started their first journey off in. Looking around, confused before getting up and walking to the next room, seeing Jermbo lying in the middle of the floor.

As Jayden walks into the next room over, Jayden finds a cat lying in the center, sleeping. Jayden walks up to it and it wakes up, "...Who's there." Jayden backs up, a little nervous, "...Oh. Just another player. Honestly, how stupid are you folks? Constantly ending up here somehow...Fine. I guess introductions are in order, huh? Hello! I'm Jermbo! Jermbo the Feline! Guessing by your expression...you're new, huh? Well then, guess I'll lay down the basics on ya', ready? Too bad." A battle initiates and Jermbo sits there, "See that? That...is your SOUL, the very culmination of your own being...It starts off VERY pathetic...miniscule...WEAK. Kind of like you in a way! But can grow quite strong if you gain tons of LV! ...what is LV? ...LOVE, moron. Aww, do you want LOVE? Don't worry! I got something for ya'!" Something appears above the battle box, "In this world, LOVE is spread and shared through little pellets! I call mine, "Kibble" ...It's the only name that made sense, okay? now...CATCH AS MANY AS YOU CAN! GO! GO! GO!" Jayden has a bad feeling about this and dodges, "Wh-Hey! You missed them! That's okay! Here! Have some more!" Jermbo tosses some more at Jayden. Who dodges again, "Okay, what the hell is going on? Are you slow? Braindead?! RUN. INTO. THE. DAMN. BULLETS! ... Kibble." Jayden dodges again. "You know what's going on here, huh? You just wanted to make me SUFFER." Jayden is encased in a box and the bullets surround their soul, "D I E." They close in slowly but...disappear before they can hit. "...Huh?" Wallter comes in from the side and starts spraying the cat, "GO ON! SHOO! SHOO! HOW DARE YOU!?" Jermbo hisses at Wallter, backing up, "This isn't the last you've seen of me. DO YOU HEAR ME?! I'LL GET YOU AGAIN. I'LL FIND YOU! AND I'LL KILL YO-" Wallter cuts off Jermbo by spraying him again. "GYAH. OKAY! FUCK! I'M GOING! I'M GOING!"

Jermbo Ran Away.

Wallter, the caretaker of the land he lives in, greets the new "stranger" with a smile on his face, "hello, are you okay dear?" he doesn't get a response, but Wallter doesn't blame them, they HAD just been attacked after all, "Well, I guess I shouldn't have expected much. But that aside, greetings, I am Wallter, caretaker and ambassador of the empty realm, well...it hasn't been much empty since I've been here, but, its been referred to as this for a while now so, might as well let it stick, would prefer a NEW name though...OH I'M RAMBLING! My apologies! follow me, young one, I will guide you to my home." Wallter walks off, Jayden following behind.

Everything is nearly identical from Chapter 1, except when we reach the dummy section.

"You see, PLAYER, in this world, whilst fighting is an option, it is always nice to have an alternative to avoid that. Here, try on this dummy here!" PLAYER walks up to it and initiates a battle, PLAYER's first instinct is to check it, ["Dummy" - Atk -10 - Def -10. Wonder why its eyes are like that...] PLAYER thinks before deciding to FIGHT it. They run up to it and toss one hell of a left hook at the dummy, punching it so hard, its head detaches from its body, dangling slightly now.

"!! PLAYER! PLEASE! The dummies are for talking! Not for fighting! We are not trying to HURT anyone here, now are we? ... *Sigh* Please...follow me to the next room."

Jayden follows Wallter into the next room and comes across another enemy. Jayden cracks their knuckles and attempts to swing at them, "Player? You're taking som- PLAYER!"

Wallter runs back and defends the creature with his body, taking the blow instead of them.
"Wallter! Are you okay?!"
"Ah, yes, do not worry. You run along now! My friend here was just...scared."
The creature backs away before leaving. "Player. That creature was not going to hurt you. It IS important to defend yourself, but there's a difference between self-defense, and a flat out MURDER. *sigh* let us continue."
