i could feel jake’s hand in mine, leading me forward, but i was still blindfolded. i had no idea where we were going.

the sea breeze kissed my skin, and the salty air told me we were somewhere close to the ocean, but that didn’t prepare me for what was waiting.

“we’re almost there,” jake whispered, his voice close to my ear.

i could hear the excitement in his tone, like he couldn’t wait to show me whatever this surprise was.

he gave my hand a reassuring squeeze, and even though i still had no clue what he had planned, i trusted him completely.

when we finally stopped, i felt jake’s hands gently untie the blindfold.

“okay… you can open your eyes now.”

the moment the fabric fell away, i blinked against the sunlight and took in the sight in front of me.

a yacht—no, not just any yacht. this was massive, elegant, the kind you only see in luxury magazines or in movies. it sparkled under the sun, and the water around it was so clear and blue, it felt like we were floating on glass.

i let out a breathless laugh, turning to jake. “you’ve got to be kidding me… a yacht?”

he grinned, that boyish charm of his lighting up his face.

“only the best for my girl,” he said, pulling me close by the waist. “happy anniversary, babe.”

i wrapped my arms around his neck, still amazed by the sight of the yacht, the endless expanse of sea.

“this is insane, jake. i’ve never even been on a yacht before.”

“first time for everything, huh?”

he kissed the top of my head and whispered, “i wanted this to be special. just us, no interruptions.”

i smiled into his chest. “you’ve really outdone yourself.”

we climbed aboard the yacht, and i could barely take in all the details. the sun deck was perfectly set up with lounge chairs, towels rolled neatly at the ends. inside, there was a cozy cabin with a spacious bed and even a small dining area where a private chef was already preparing dinner for us.

it was like a dream, something so out of reach, yet here we were, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. my superstar boyfriend makes a lot of money and he seems to have an addiction of spending it all on me—as if it were the most normal thing in his world.

“let’s make the most of it,” jake said, slipping off his shoes and pulling me toward the sun deck.

we settled down on the chairs, letting the sun warm our skin. i could hear the soft lapping of waves against the boat, the gentle hum of the yacht’s engine mixed with the sound of waves breaking against the hull.

as the hours passed, everything felt so… peaceful.

there was no rush, no cameras, no crowds, just jake and me, together, with nothing but the sea stretching endlessly in front of us. it was a side of him i didn’t get to see often—a calm, relaxed jake, who didn’t have to be the starboy for a while.

“you know,” he said suddenly, his voice thoughtful, “i still can’t believe it’s been a year.”

i turned my head, meeting his gaze. the sun cast a soft golden glow across his face, making him look even more handsome than usual, if that was even possible.

“i know,” i murmured. “it feels like we’ve been through so much in just one year.”

“yeah,” he sighed, running a hand through his hair. “so much… but i wouldn’t change any of it. not a single thing. because here we are.”
