Kamen Rider is a name that has become iconic within the realm of Tokusatsu. Starting with Kamen Rider Ichigo in 1971. From here there have been multiple eras from Heisei to Neo-Heisei and finally Reiwa. The Heisei Era of Kamen Rider is by far the most popular. With seasons like Decade adding to the overarching narrative of the entire Kamen Rider franchise. Speaking of which, let's talk about every rider from Decade to Zi-O.

Decade, as mentioned earlier, was a groundbreaking series that celebrated the 10th Heisei Rider anniversary. It introduced us to Tsukasa Kadoya, a mysterious photographer who traveled through time, visiting various parallel universes, each featuring a different Kamen Rider. This concept allowed the show to pay homage to the previous nine Heisei Riders, while also introducing new characters and storylines.

Next in line was Double, which marked a significant shift in the franchise's tone. Set in the city of Futo, the series followed the story of Shotaro Hidari, a private investigator, and his partner Philip, a mysterious being with the ability to transform into Kamen Rider Double. This series was notable for its darker tone, complex characters, and intricate plotlines.

Following Double was OOO, a series that explored the concept of desires and the consequences of playing with forces beyond human control. Eiji Hino, a young man with a strong sense of justice, became the chosen one to wield the power of Kamen Rider OOO. With the help of his mentor, Ankh, Eiji battled against the Greeed, monstrous creatures born from human desires.

Fourze, the next series, took a more light hearted approach, focusing on the adventures of Gentaro Kisaragi, a cheerful and energetic high school student who became Kamen Rider Fourze. With the help of his friends and allies, Gentaro fought against the Zodiarts, an alien race threatening Earth's space program.

Wizard, the 15th Heisei Rider, marked a return to the darker tone of Double. The series followed the story of Haruto Soma, a young man who gained the power of Kamen Rider Wizard after making a pact with a mysterious sorcerer. Haruto's quest was to protect the world from the Phantoms, monstrous creatures born from human despair.

Gaim, the next series, introduced us to Kouta Kazuraba, a young man living in a world where humans had discovered the power of the Helheim Forest. As Kamen Rider Gaim, Kouta fought against the Yggdrasill Corporation, an organization seeking to exploit the forest's power for their own gain.

Drive, the 16th Heisei Rider, brought a fresh perspective to the franchise. Shinnosuke Tomari, a young detective, became Kamen Rider Drive after teaming up with Kiriko Shijima, a brilliant scientist. Together, they battled against the Roidmudes, robotic creatures threatening the world's peace.

Ghost, the next series, took a more supernatural approach, focusing on the story of Takeru Tenkuji, a young man who became Kamen Rider Ghost after his death. With the help of his mentor, Sennin, Takeru fought against the Gamma, monstrous creatures born from human darkness.

Finally, we have Zi-O, the 20th Heisei Rider, which serves as a sequel to Decade. The series follows the story of Sougo Tokiwa, a young man who became Kamen Rider Zi-O after discovering his ability to travel through time. With the help of his friends, Geiz and Tsukuyomi, Sougo battled against the Time Jackers, an organization seeking to alter the course of history.

Throughout the Heisei Era, we've seen a diverse range of stories, characters, and themes. From the celebration of the franchise's history to the exploration of complex moral dilemmas, each series has contributed to the rich tapestry of the Kamen Rider universe. As we look to the future, it's clear that the franchise will continue to evolve, always pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a hero.

In the far reaches of space, a malevolent cosmic entity made its way towards earth. It then took the form of a Kamen Rider with purple and black body armour, alongside gold trim and demonic silver horns. This was the villainous Kamen Rider Cross X. He plans to take out all Kamen Riders and teleports down to earth, ready to begin his plan. Welcome to Kamen Rider Yugo x Heisei Riders: Kamen Rider Seikyou Battle!
