The Spider-Mobile zoomed through the darkened streets of Manhattan, the eerie quiet of the evacuated city making every sound, every distant rumble, more pronounced. Spider-Man drove with practiced ease, his focus split between the road ahead and the quiet, concerned voices coming through the comms in the SHIELD command room.
"So... magic-proof webbing?" Tony's voice was laced with disbelief. "You've really been holding out on us, Webhead."
Spider-Man, his tone as detached as ever, responded, "Not holding out. Just being prepared. Too many magic users in my rogues' gallery to not have a contingency. The webbing disrupts their ability to channel or summon magic and sorcery. It's not foolproof, but it works most of the time."
In the command room, Reed Richards' brow furrowed as he examined the readouts from Spider-Man's feed. "Ingenious. I'll need to see the formula for that sometime."
"Noted," Spider-Man replied flatly. "Let's focus on the situation first."
As Spider-Man continued explaining, the Spider-Mobile's internal AI, EON, suddenly lit up on his HUD.
"Warning: Multiple fast-moving armored vehicles detected closing in from all directions."
Spider-Man's eyes narrowed behind the mask. "Armored vehicles?" He checked the feed, his heart rate spiking for a split second before he forced himself to calm. "Correction: Tanks."
The Spider-Mobile's sensors showed at least ten tanks encircling his position, moving with alarming speed and precision.
"Spidey," Steve's voice cut through the comms, tension clear. "We didn't have any intel about tanks in Manhattan. Are you sure?"
"Pretty sure," Spider-Man muttered as the first tank burst through an intersection ahead, followed by several others. They moved with a terrifying grace for such large machines. EON quickly identified them as unmanned drones, their movement patterns too mechanical for human operation. "No drivers. These are drones."
"What?" Tony's voice was sharp. "Tanks that size as drones? Someone's pulling some serious tech strings here."
Peter pressed a button on his dashboard, his voice calm, almost clinical. "War mode, EON."
The AI responded immediately, the Spider-Mobile's smooth frame shifting as armor plates locked into place, shielding its wheels and converting it into a heavily fortified vehicle. Panels on the sides opened up, revealing a rapid-fire gatling gun and a small, retractable cannon.
"War mode?" Reed's voice held a hint of incredulity. "You've outfitted your vehicle with full-scale weaponry?"
From the back of the command room, Johnny Storm's eyes lit up, practically vibrating with excitement. "You've been driving around in a battle-ready car this whole time and didn't tell me?! Dude, we could've done so many awesome things together with that."
Carol Danvers crossed her arms, a grin creeping onto her face as she watched the feed. "Gotta admit, this is really cool, Webhead."
Meanwhile, Steve's eyes were focused on the unfolding situation, his concern mounting. "Focus, everyone. Spidey, what's the plan?"
Spider-Man didn't respond immediately. Instead, he pressed down on the accelerator, swerving the car into a sharp turn as one of the tanks fired a shell toward him. He twisted the Spider-Mobile out of the way, the shell detonating harmlessly behind him. With a flick of a switch, the gatling gun spun to life, its rounds peppering the nearest tank, shredding its sensors and turrets with ease.
"EON," Peter ordered, "prioritize targets by range and firepower."
"Affirmative. Engaging targets."
