The days that followed were quiet-too quiet. The threatening messages from the stalker had stopped, but Jungkook couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. The weight of the silence unnerved him as much as the messages had. But through it all, Taehyung had remained steadfast, his presence calming in a way Jungkook hadn't realized he needed.

It was strange, the way their relationship had deepened in such a short amount of time. Jungkook found himself relying on Taehyung more and more, not just for protection but for companionship. There was something magnetic about him-something that drew Jungkook closer despite the growing intensity of Taehyung's gaze.

On this particular evening, they sat together in the living room, a soft glow from the lamp casting warm shadows around them. Taehyung had his usual calm, composed demeanor, but Jungkook could feel something bubbling just beneath the surface. Something more intense, more raw.

"Are you okay?" Jungkook asked, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled between them.

Taehyung's eyes flickered toward him, softening for a moment before he nodded. "I'm fine. Just thinking."

"About what?" Jungkook leaned forward, curiosity getting the better of him.

Taehyung hesitated for a moment, his gaze lingering on Jungkook's face before answering. "About how close we've gotten."

Jungkook felt a warmth spread through his chest at the words. It was true-they had grown close. Closer than Jungkook had anticipated. He'd never been good at letting people in, but Taehyung had slipped past his defenses effortlessly.

"I'm glad you're here," Jungkook admitted quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

The vulnerability in his words hung in the air, and for a moment, Taehyung said nothing. Then, slowly, he reached out, his fingers brushing against Jungkook's. The touch was brief, but it sent a shiver down Jungkook's spine, a jolt of electricity sparking between them.

"You don't need to worry about that," Taehyung said, his voice low, almost a whisper. "I'm not going anywhere."

Jungkook looked up at him, his heart racing. There was something about the way Taehyung was looking at him-something intense and possessive. It should have scared him, but instead, it made his pulse quicken in a different way. He felt safe with Taehyung, even if the intensity of his presence sometimes left him breathless.

Their eyes locked, and for a moment, the air between them crackled with unspoken tension. Jungkook wasn't sure what to say or do, so he let the moment stretch out, savoring the warmth that spread through him.

"I... I trust you," Jungkook whispered.

Taehyung's grip on his hand tightened, his gaze darkening in a way that made Jungkook's heart race. "Good," Taehyung replied, his voice barely more than a growl. "Because I'll always be here. No matter what."

---

Later that night, Jungkook found himself lying in bed, staring up at the ceiling. He could still feel the lingering warmth of Taehyung's touch, the intensity of his gaze burning in his mind. There was something about the way Taehyung looked at him, something that made him feel... important. Needed. He couldn't deny the attraction that had been building between them, the way he found himself drawn to Taehyung more and more each day.
