Chapter Two - 5 Years Later

Chanel and Ruben are now in college. Chanel is 17 and has matured into a nice respectable woman. She is now more aware of her appearances, she is also more confident thanks to Rubens influence. Ruben now 18 is always on her side and supporting all her wants and desires. Keeping his promise about protecting her from bullies. Ruben is Chanel's closest companion. Chanel treats him as if he is her older brother. Now that Ruben is 18 Chanel noticed that his voice has become a lot deeper. Maybe it was due to the Adams apple and his appearance that is starting to look more adult like.

"Chanel, where are you?" Ruben yelled as he walked into Chanel's room. Ruben was always welcomed into her house by her parents. They literally adored him, he always brought a positive attitude and they trusted him to guard their daughter. "I'm in here," Chanel yelled back while fixing her clothes and then putting on her makeup. Chanel felt someone staring at her and smiled. Ruben smiled back controlling the blush that was trying to flush his face. Staring at Chanel in her mirror he instantly said, "You don't need makeup, your already my princess and your absolutely gorgeous." Chanel grins because what her now best friend had said. 

"Well, today I'm planning to make some friends because it's been awhile," before Chanel could say anything else Ruben cut her off. "What do you need new friends for? I mean you have me. I'm I not enough for you anymore?" Rubens tone fell sad, as he kept his rage under control. Chanel smiled and said, "You are more than enough for me, your my best friend," Chanel said not wanting to irritate him more than she already had. "I will always protect you, you're my princess. You really don't need any other friends," Ruben stayed with a smile trying to convince Chanel. Chanel blushed slightly walking down the stairs with Ruben holding her hands like she would die if he let her go.

"Ok, fine. But we better get to school we're going to be late." That's why Ruben will go to any lengths to protect his girl, no one was going to take her from him. He would fuck them up so bad they would be to terrified of stealing what's his. Chanel and Ruben were able to attend their classes for the day. They're both enrolled in a business management courses. Ruben made sure to enroll in the same courses to ensure that no one snatches his love. Chanel was starting to get fed up with Ruben. Every time someone would try in spark up a conversation with her Ruben became enraged. Ruben interfered constantly and this wasn't the first time in her whole life she felt like she was in a possessive bubble that she couldn't get out of.

Chanel didn't mind it in high school because she just saw it as her best friend acting as her big brother. But Ruben was taking it to far. When lunchtime came Ruben whispered in her ear that she wasn't allowed to sit with other students but especially not other male students. There was this one time a guy came up to me and started a conversation. It was a basic school conversation such as, "Hello my name is Tyler can I seat with you?" Tyler had a really sexy smile that made me blush. "Yes," I responded completely forgetting that the seat next to me was Rubens. But Chanel didn't care at the time she was meeting someone other than Ruben. Tyler and Chanel were joking and laughing when Ruben saw them he quickly tightened his jaws and his eyes were full of jealousy.

He considered how long would it take for him to assassinate that guy. But instead he returned to the table and slams his and her tray on the table. Chanel stops laughing and looks at Ruben with an raised eyebrow. Then quickly noticed that Ruben was giving Tyler a death stare, she felt terrified. "Why are you trying to get at my girl?" Ruben yelled and Tyler got terrified. "Hey man, all we was doing was talking," Tyler said. "Yea, all were doing," Chanel began but Ruben interrupted her. "I'm not talking to you Chanel. We will talk later," Chanel just stared at the table. "I'm sorry man, I wasn't trying to offend you," Tyler said apologizing before he got up and left in a slight hurry.

When Ruben sat down next to her Chanel felt scared and disoriented. She didn't understand why Ruben was acting like this. It was really starting to get excessive. "Why were you talking to him? I'm the only one who can talk to you, touch you, and make you laugh," Ruben said staring into her eyes. Chanel just nodded and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to piss you off like that. But I'm just trying to meet new people." Ruben kissed her cheek and said, "I'm your best friend and I will be here for you at all times. I wouldn't abandon you." Chanel said nothing just started eating her lunch. Ruben made sure he was the only one who could make her laugh. So he made her happy again by being warm, kind, and attentive.
