The best I could muster was a muffled 'hmm' followed by 'thanks' on a heavy breath.
Laying on my back, I looked up the ceiling, I tried to bring a hand up to brush across my chest, to enjoy a taste of what we'd done together. But my arm refused to move, heavy as lead.
A heavy contentment had enveloped me, an almost drunken feeling, intoxicated by sex.
Something tight at the back of my brain. That this wasn't quite right.
I really couldn't move/ part of me knew I should be alarmed by the thought, panicked, but I just wanted to lie there.
That's when I heard the footsteps. Not from the bathroom. Not from Kai. But the wrong decision.
Thought my body wouldn't move, my eyes still obeyed. I looked towards where we'd entered, and that's when I saw him.
That's when I was Death.
