Chapter 8: Heaven and Earth Alliance

It's been a whole week, myself, Kratos, Freya, and Atreus have been training. Preparing for the soon battle. I was using my new blade that I pulled out of my suit pocket. As I was going my new Falchion sword, Mimir broke the silence.

M: "So, how much preparation do we need?"

E: "As much as we need. This war is practically inevitable, we must be fully prepared."

M: "No breaks?"

K: "Wars as inevitable as this one. You must keep your mind clear and ready for anything."

Mimir was quiet, thinking about the words given to him.
I kept hitting a tree with the sword, but the sword kept true and never broke.

E: "This sword is a lot more powerful and sturdy than the other one I had. Thanks for this Darin."

D: "Your other sword looked like it was held together by what us blacksmiths called a forge weld. It was a good one but one hard smack it will shatter. I figured you could use an upgrade."

E: "Fair. But I appreciate it."

We continued.

A: "Ethan, is there a difference between using a sword and a bow?"

E: "Yes. Using a bladed weapon like a sword or an axe, you're putting more of your body into some swing. But with a bow, you have the option to attack from a distance."

F: "A bow can be used in its own unique way from a sword. But some are taught you use both."

A: "Have you used a bow before, father?"

K: "I have used, many varieties of weapons. Bows were much easier to learn, while the blades, tho they were bound to me, had many of its own untapped abilities."

He understood and continued training.
As we continued Cami came back down to visit us.

F: "Madam Cami. Good to see you."

C: "You know you don't need to be formal with me."

E: "Now you know how I feel."

We laughed a bit.

M: "What's the visit for?"

C: "Well, I've gotten to think about what was talked about a whole ago. And I think it would be of the best interest for us to be Allies."

I stopped and turned around.

E: "Earth and Heaven allies against hell?"

C: "Yes. Your group and what armies are left, plus my armies. We can out number hell."

I stuck my sword in the log I was training with, and got to thinking.

M: "I mean, if you think about it. Not only would we have good numbers as well as allies to trust. You will have an advantage if you need to go verse the devil himself."

E: "True that."

Cami shrunk down to our size and stood next to me.

C: "You told me that, there is no choice in, ending Neville. And I've come to trust you and your friends a lot more as I've gotten to know you all."

I began nodding, then she got closer to me.

C: "Ethan. I understand what your conflicting thoughts are. The last time you tried to trust a god, they turned on you."

I turned to look in her eyes.

C: "I promise, with everything I am for, and with all the love I have. That I will never betray you after the war."

She handed me a flower from the heavens, which surprised me a bit.
I looked up at the sky, then finally came to my thoughts.

E: "I truly understand what's on your mind. With everything that happens the last few months. I have my ups and downs with trust issues. But, you're a really great person Cami. So, I accept this alliance. Earth and Heaven shall be aligned together. In the end, I will take on double the rule over both Earth and Hell."

We shook hands.

C: "That's settles it. When the time comes. We will be at your aid."

I nodded. Before she left, she gave me a sneaking kiss on the check then left back to heaven. I pause in my steps.

F: "Did I see what I just saw?"

M: "You did. I mean, can you really blame her?"

F: "I suppose not."

Freya walked over to me, as I was collecting my thoughts, did the ruler of heaven, kiss me?

F: "You alright, Ethan?"

E: "I- I think so. that was out of nowhere. Your not mad, are you?"

F: "No, I'm not. You've helped her a lot, and well, you are a good looking person. So I'm not mad about it "

I calmed down.

E: "Okay."

M: "Probably should get back to training, then figure out what tomorrow holds?"

E: "True."

We continued training, made sure we are fully prepared for the battle.
After a long week, we all rested for a while.
