Julian Black walked into Achoo High, his heart heavy with the weight of his past. Transferring schools wasn't his choice, but his parents thought it would help him start fresh.
As he navigated the unfamiliar hallways, he spotted Lexi sitting alone in the library. Her intense focus on her sketchbook drew him in.
"Mind if I join you?" Julian asked, his deep voice gentle.
Lexi's eyes widened, startled. "Uh, no. I mean, sure."
Julian smiled, sitting down beside her. "I'm Julian."
"Lexi," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
Their conversation flowed easily, discovering shared loves for art and music.
Tiffany and her crew sauntered in, snickering. "Looks like Lexi's found a new victim," Tiffany sneered.
Julian's eyes narrowed. "Leave her alone."
Tiffany raised an eyebrow. "Or what?"
Lexi's eyes locked onto Julian's, fear and gratitude mingling.
